The government taking too much power, or perhaps some sort of situation where one political group tries to stay in power even though they are voted out.... all Bush jokes aside, I mean someone that tries to take over the government permanently.

Probably another terrorist attack--remember us after 9/11? Or a plague of some kind, one that indiscriminately killed people of all age, sex, and race. Apparently, although we're all moaning and groaning over gas prices, we just can't seem to pull together to boycott the filling stations. And in the age of the internet, too.
