some of my more right wing friends seem to think that some things can't be bought. remember, a "price" is a vague term. lets say someone kidnaps your kid or spouse what would you do to get them back safely (besides play Rambo)?
doesn't everyone have something that could be take from them or given to them that would cause them to do something they wouldn't normally do against their will?
this just seems like a self evident fact to me. what say you?

J1.....satan? exactly how were you able to quote a fictional and spiritual being? do YOU have a source. my "source" is my personal experience and intuition as i already stated. if you had read the question, you would have known that.

just because i can't conceive of what that price might be doesn't mean it doesn't exist. i suppose if i HAD to chose between my mother or daughter i would chose my daughter. thats the thing with a hypothetical question. you must remain within its confines, otherwise its absurd. i don't really like my mom much anyhow, lol JUST KIDDING!

everyone has a price. the question is what that price might be. top shelf, myself.
someone up there has conversations with satan? hmm. there was this guy lived next door once, had voices in his head too.
i'm sorry folks, i have seen the outer limits of humanity. the boundries are not as far out as we would like to think.

To begin with I think you have your wings mixed up. Right wingers lean toward Capitalism and Anarchy at the extremes, and left wingers lean toward communism. A true right wing capitalist would say that everything has a price... and a softy liberal would say some things cant be bought.
Now, aside from that hell yeah everything has a price. Especially so if the price could be anything. I really love my cat but would gladly give him up to save my best friends life, etc, etc. I might give him up for money, but I wouldn't give my best friend up for any amount of money.

Yes its true.....everything in the world has a price. If I wanted to have sex with the pope....money being no object, there is a way that you could make that happen. Might take some time, and patience in addition to the train load of cash...but at the end of the trip...I would be asking his Holiness...."Who's ur Daddy!"

I understand the point you're making, and in the most general argument, I would agree with you - yes, everything has a price.
HOWEVER, I must also believe that there are some things that some people absolutely would not do under ANY circumstances.
I have to believe this. It is essential to my very being.
If it were not true - then human beings have no souls. There MUST be some things in life that are sacred, that are absolute - regardless of the extraneous goings-on.

So, according to your comment wouldn't it be more appropriate to say everyone has a price for some things, not everyone has a price for everything. Certainly you wouldn't kill your entire family for "something" would you? Yes, something may be so important to you that you would do anything for that person or thing, but you do not have a price you'd pay for all things.

Everything has a price, but not everyone.
No. If someone takes my child I'd have to be dead. Our children, 11 and 13 are always referring to me as KGB. It's an honorary title because I watch them so closely. I don't mind it. I'd rather be considered KGB than not pay attention and our children get taken and killed.
If someone takes my child, there is no pain, no suffering that they could ever imagine like the ones that I can inflict upon them and anyone connected with this.
I'd gladly go to death row for our children.

I can't see myself being bought on everything. Some things yes others no.
It seems you think that you yourself can be bought on everything. What would the price be for you to say kill your mother or the one you most love in the world?

No, not everyone and everything has a price. Some
people and some things are free, have no price
tag, nor demand any reward. I feel sorry for those
people who have never been confronted by this fact.

The people with principles do not have a price.
No amount of money or anything could cause me to harm an animal. Never! No amount of money could cause me to harm any living being.
Your statement is only somewhat true. There are limitations.
