I've always liked him. So far he has not disappointed me. He's so different from Blair and has brought back Labour the way it is supposed to be.

They demand gun control. They demand that government tell us to wear a seat belt. They demand that trans fats be banned. They demand smoking be banned. They demand restriction of information such as books that can be owned.

Then they complain that their rights are violated under the patriot act. Well if you are in contact with a suspected terrorist then you may be listened too otherwise you are a waste of time.

The Founding Fathers guarenteed us "Freedom of religion", not "Freedom from religion."

America was founded on Judeo- Christian values.

Prayer and attending religous services have both been a part of our cultural experience since the arrival of the Mayflower.

Religous expression is part of the American identity.

Why should the National Day of Pray be controversial? If you don't want to pray, you don't have to?

Isn't that the same logic the libs use regarding t.v. violence? If you don't want to watch it, then don't.

(Details above from the book, "The Savage Nation".)

Aren't you just so sick and tired of how the liberal secularists are trying to secularize America?

I'm not going to bend over to some foolish atheist. TOO BAD IF THEY DON'T BELIEVE! I DON'T CARE.
America was founded for the freedom of worship to the Judeo- Christian God.
We can't forget that.
And we can't let these secular progressives make us forget and abandon our religious roots since the bi

We hate each other. Soon enough that hatred is going to explode. I'd like half of America to be Liberal and the other Conservative. I'm Independent myself.

Not gonna happen I know but still I like to dream big.

Certainly there are critics and proponents from both sides, but doesn't it seem more like a catch 22? Obviously one side will not be appeased with the decision to either stay or go.

While I would assume most Americans want the troops brought home, and I certainly do, there are too many adverse effects that would equate to an unstable government.
Then pro-war activists will claim it's a success. I agree to an extent that it is, but longterm occupation obviously is not going to work either.

How do YOU choose whether to stay or go?

Isn't it obvious to you by this point that Iraq is headed for a civil war?
We invaded without UN authorization - bad idea.
We disbanded the Iraqi army - bad idea.
We put Shia death squads in charge of the police and army - bad idea
Then we gave the Sunnis weapons to fight "al Qaeda in Iraq" - bad idea.

And now we are supposed to believe that "the surge" worked and that's why the British are leaving and we can leave too?

Whatever. Most people are not that stupid.

2007-09-03 09:49:14 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous

I always here conservative propaganda that the surge is working and liberals hate that. I was wondering just what is the surge supposed to do? I thought it's main purpose was to stabilize that region, but that's not happening, innocent people are dying every day. Is the surge just supposed to make a short term impact on Iraq? Obviously more soldiers means less violence, but to me the real mark on whether the surge works or not is what the long term effects will be, When the surge ends, as we know it must, will the violence increase again? If so, would you consider the surge a success? and if you do, would you support instituting the draft to really make things ok In Iraq, image what a surge of 1 million US troops could do.
