The second anniversary of that horrible tragedy is coming up. Everyone seems to be pointing fingers at who dropped the ball that caused people to be left behind in a doomed city, whose job was it to strenthen the levees long before Katrina came along, why was N.O. so impoverished to begin with....

When it is all said and done-- isn't the HURRICANE to blame for the destruction of New Orleans?

I had one tell me the other day that Colin Powell and Condi Rice were not black, but sell-outs (what that means is an entire other question) and Uncle Toms. The guy also said Alberto Gonzalez was a (and I quote) a beaner that should only mow his yard. When did Democrats become so racist?

Are you proud now that you have forced a fourth high ranking Republican from office by constantly hounding and investigating, with zero proof of wrong doing, or any proof of any law being broken?

Gonzales, whom Bush once considered for appointment to the Supreme Court, is the fourth top-ranking administration official to leave since November 2006, following Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, who had a high-ranking Pentagon job before going to the World Bank as its president, and top political and policy adviser Karl Rove.

Congratulations. You must be so proud. Which honest, hard-working servant of this country will you go after next?

Today is a banner day for the worst questions and answers on this site . People foolishly arguing about how many people resigned during this administration or that administration . One guy who thinks it's 'hilarious' that our troops die in Iraq during their noble service to our country . Complaints and bashing abound . . . as always . A good percentage of Greece is on fire . People are dying left and right . The Midwest. . . that's right , THE MIDWEST of the United States Of America is devastated with flooding , trees down , houses and lifelong personal affects gone . Historic droughts of unheard of proportions still exist and continue in many states . And yet so many of you are willing to crush anyone who disagrees with you .
SHAME ON YOU . And just where the hell is your HEART ? Your SOUL ? Your DECENCY ? Your COMPASSION ?
YOUR HELP ?

I noticed that on this site, people who criticize GWB are being labeled as Liberals. Or anyone who doesn't share the same beliefs as Conservatives are liberals. I was just wondering why people do that. People use the word "liberal" as an insult. When frankly, there is nothing wrong with being Liberal. Just like there is nothing wrong with being a Conservative. I don't get it. Please explain...

EXCERPT FROM ARTICLE:
"There are American officials who consider Iraq as if it were one of their villages, for example Hillary Clinton and Carl Levin," al-Maliki told a news conference.

"This is severe interference in our domestic affairs. Carl Levin and Hillary Clinton are from the Democratic Party and they must demonstrate democracy," he said. "I ask them to come to their senses and to talk in a respectful way about Iraq."

Why is this a political question? When our "President" proudly proclaims that God told him to invade Iraq, when a growing number in the House, Senate and Supreme Court are openly Fundamentalist or less openly Dominionist I think it's safe to say that the separation between church and state has been breached if not obliterated. Many on the far right are saying there never was such a separation, or never should have been. What, then is the character of this new Jesus who guides our country? Has "Love thy neighbor as thyself." become "Love thy neighbor as thyself, as long as he attends the same church"? Has "Turn the other cheek." become "Turn the other cheek. Then deck the one who slapped you."? Dominionist preacher Rod Parsley has exuberently called his "Christian" followers to war against homosexuls, liberals, or any others who refuse to follow the black and white Dominionist dogma. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." or "Find the sin in others and bury them."?

If you are not going to vote, do you realize how wrong that is and what a cop out it is, and that your NON VOTE all these years might have made a difference in the direction the world has proceeded?

Do you not realize that there is POWER in numbers and alone you are nothing?

when confronted about the anti-constitutional aspects of the patriot acts and this present administrations domestic spying programs and databases neocons often come back with the question "how have your freedoms been infringed or damaged by this legislation?" implying that it is and should not be of any concern to American citizens that the constitution is being abridged.

So my question above relies on this same logic, implying that since the overwhelming majority of Americans have in no way been significantly impacted by terrorists, they are and should not be of any concern to Americans and that the Bush administration has greatly inflated the genuine threat posed by terrorists.

Many scientists including James Hansen, quite possibly the foremost climate scientist on the planet, think the predictions made by the IPCC report are actually too conservative:

"Certain positive feedback effects, as well as recent data on the melting of the Greenland ice sheet, were not included in the IPCC's report. "Because of the cumbersome IPCC review process, they exclude recent information," Prof. Hansen says, "so they are very handicapped."

Richard Peltier agrees. A University of Toronto physicist and the director of the Centre for Global Change Science, he works on mathematical models to explain the melting and freezing dynamics of the Greenland ice sheet and has contributed to the IPCC publications - but even he agrees that their assumptions tend to be "extremely conservative."

Isn't it funny, YA Conservatives are already downplaying Gonzales. When asked what they think about his resignation or what Bush has to say about him, phrases like , "who cares, he resigned" are already showing up. Just like when Rumsfeld and Rove quit. How soon they WANT to forget! Is this standard procedure for Cons?
