Let me start this answer by saying, HOORAY. This a good day in American History, maybe some actual justice can return to the Judiciary. Gonzo should have resigned months ago but didn't so he could delay the current investigations going on. If an honest man was in that position then the RNC cards would start to fall and the corruption would be exposed. Today is a good day...

Not sure why he resigned now but we have continually pointed out that this man, who held the highest law enforcement office in the land, is sympathetic to those who come here illegally. Bush has repeatedly stated that Gonzales' parents are migrant workers -- we believe they are illegal immigrants who have been given preferential treatment by the Bush family. Therefore, if Gonzales is investigated and his family is investigated, it is going to look even worse for the Bush family, not to mention showing Gonzales as a fraud. He (Gonzales) has repeatedly stated that his worst day in office was better than his father's best days. However, two or more wrongs don't make a right. If you swear to uphold the laws of the land and you hold that office, then you should start by enforcing them against your own family. How many other children did the Gonzales family have? How many of them are holding offices in our federal government? Why shouldn't this family be investigated and why shouldn't they be held accountable for their crimes? Of course, George W. Bush is 100% responsible for nominating Gonzales and 100% responsible for any criminal acts that have been committed and "covered up" or that will ultimately be exposed. Maybe they're all "jumping ship" because the crap is about to hit the fan. Remember the President got assurance that he will not be tried for war crimes or for the crimes that he committed and continues to commit. Of course, Bush lacks integrity and when he says a man's name has been "dragged through the mud for political reasons", he's again sticking his head in the sand and failing to take responsibility for his own actions. We shall see. U.S. Citizens want their laws enforced and if Bush appoints another "Failure" or another pro-illegal immigrant Attorney General or Anti-law enforcement Attorney General, we'll be no better off than we were with Gonzales. We need our top law enforcement Attorney General to have enough guts to enforce the laws and be above politics and bribery and other crimes. We need him/her to have integrity and morals and who will cause "heads to roll" in offices where the laws have not been enforced. We'd like to see an immediate crackdown on illegal immigrants and the corporations that hire, harbor and help them and we don't want to hear that law enforcement has been dragging their feet waiting for changes in the laws. That is totally illegal and unconstitutional because ex-post facto laws are unconstitutional. Therefore, laws must be enforced immediately.

He and Bush realized the proverbial 'crap was about to hit the fan'. He resigns now to hopefully back the Congress off his case, saving Rove and many others from further involvement and criminal charges, and saving the administration and the Repubs from more public disgrace. We'll see if Congress lets it rest with just his resignation.

He resigned to disrupt the month long vacation congress is taking right now. And while we are on that subject. How can this congress and any other congress say they are for the people when they take a month long vacation from their job. There are very, very few Americans who can take a month long vacation.

Who needs new info, what we have is enough for him to resign. Perjury brought impeachment to a President, what should it do to an Attorney General? He should only be ashamed he waited so long.

Welcome to big leagues. Here's the deal, So another deal could be made. The hand that feeds. This gives Dub u another lame duck appointment and the GOP more...(disappointments). When Dub finally gets outta DC he can retire on the laurels and kickbacks of all the wheels he greased during his lame %ss administration.
