Why didn't she run for Senate from Arkansas or Illinois?

But wasn't she elected in 2000, when the Clintons were living in Washington DC and from Arkansas?

Residency rules are not as tough in New York as in other states - RFK was elected Senator in the 1960s under much the same crticisim of being an opportunist who was using the seat to run for president..and, many politicos have "residences" that are nothing more than for voting/eligibility requirements.

She ran for state senator in NY because there were no other Democrats who wanted the job. She is a career free lance politician and needed a place to do some campaign networking.
She won because Rudy Giuliani got prostate cancer and dropped out of the senate race.
Rick Lazio, a young congressman from Long Island replaced him with just 5 months before the election and never went upstate to campaign.
The NYC liberals would have voted for Hillary regardless.
Lazio made a name and contacts for himself , went on to become the CEO of a finance firm and is now out of politics getting rich while we're stuck with Hillary BSing her way through.
Hillary says: She is the first New Yorker to serve on the Senate Armed Services committee.
If she's a New Yorker, I'm from Saturn.

She established residency in NY for the predetermined amount of time required to run. The reason is because I think she knew AR would NOT elect her, and it's more sophisticated (politically speaking) to run for President from New York than from Arkansas. Her thinking may have been that while it was fine for Bill to run from Arkansas, it was beneath her. Also, I think she knew that NY would elect her easily, while other states wouldn't. I think the other Dems in NY when she was running were pretty weak, and the Rep candidates were all but non-existant.

Because the great liberal state of New York is that twisted and dysfunctional that the populace would vote for Joe Stalin if he ran on the Democratic ticket (Which we really did when Joe Stalin went through the sex change operation and became HiLiary Clinton). More taxation, less voice in government, more oppression, and when the hell are these liberal crybaby bastar@s going to rebuild the WTC?? it's been over six years.
And as you can see, it's not just endemic of New York politics because the libs in New Orleans are marching in the same parade. Those scrotum suckers are just disgusting

SHE ACQUIRED A HOUSE IN CHAPPAQUA DUE TO THE AID OF CLINTON BAG MAN TERRY McAULLIFE. WHEN SHE DECIDED TO RUN ALREADY ANNOUNCED CANDIDATE REP. NITA LOWEY PULLED OUT OF THE RACE. SHE DEFEATED REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN RICK LAZIO FOR THE POSITION. HE WAS HER OPPONENT AFTER RUDY GIULIANI WITHDREW FROM THE RACE DUE TO PROSTRATE CANCER. I DON'T BELIEVE SHE HAS SPENT TO MUCH TIME IF ANY AT HER HOME. SHE IS SIMPLY A CARPETBAGGER ALONG THE LINES OF BOBBY KENNEDY. IN 2006 SHE BE A BETTER CANDIDATE IN THE FORMER MAYOR OF YONKERS JOHN SPENCER.

I bet she wishes she would have run in Illinois now (rumor is that she considered it), that is the seat that Obama holds.

The fact that she is not popular in either state contributed to the decision.

You would think people would want someone who had ties to and a love for the state they would represent.
