It seems to me that every story has two sides. So I actually try to think of things from their point of view, though it's impossibe. They hate us, don't they have reason to? Maybe not, so switching back to our side, what should we really do? How far should we go?

When the state provides all your needs, why should you look for a job?

When will we come to realize that the “benevolent paternalism” of a generous government does more harm than good?

Decades of welfare-state coddling have created a permanent American underclass feeding at the government teet and voting for democrats to give them more goodies.

I am tired of bush saying "Give me something I can sign" when what he means is give me what I want, and the democrats caving to him. Its not that Bush can't sign the bill it's that he won;t, why don't the democrats in congress stand up to him? I know I would feel alot better about them if they did and I expect most republicans, (or at least the ones that aren't militant O'Reilly's republicans) would have more respect for them if they did.

The gloves will not come off until the candidates for the Republicans and Dems campaign head to head. Can Hillary survive intense questioning on travelgate, whitewater, federal order issued to Clintons to return government property to White House, her relationship with Vince Foster, her ties to big business, her ties to the health care industry...and on and on and...........

He doesn't want to have to answer to Congress; so why does he think he has the right to make Congress answer to him? He has fought our system of checks and balances tooth and nail... now he wants to preserve the parts of it that benefit him? Is it really supposed to work that way?

I mean that's what this is about right? Stablizing an oil rich Center over there? But ignore the whole oil money thing. If you support the war and think we can "finish" over there, then how long should we stay? Should we be there dying everyday in the middle of their civil war?

does it really matter what ethnicity politicians are? Obama may be black, but what does that matter to me. I will only look at his platform, not his skin color. I see alot of people talking about him being black this and that. And i hear things on tv like "Are we ready for a black President?" What? is there something i'm missing? what does the skin color of a person have to do with how they are going to run a country?

Democrats had been trying since 2004 to get Bush & Republican controlled congress to pass a Homeland Security Bill that was recommended by "The 9-11 Commission" to protect America from terrorists. Republicans & Dubya kept avoiding it for 3 years.

Now the Democratic controlled Senate has passed that bill and the Democrats will do the same in the House as well and force Dubya to sign it.

What are your thoughts?

If you are paying a premium to Aetna, United Health, BCBS, Cigna, Kaiser ect... you are paying into a pooled healthcare system. Yes, you are buying into 'socialized' medicine. YOUR MONEY IS GOING TO PAY FOR OTHER PEOPLE'S HEALTH CARE BILLS! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? The only difference between what you are paying for now and Universal Health Care, is the money would be administered by the Government instead of a for-profit industry. Oh, and you also wouldn't be paying for stuff like marketing, commissions and CEO golden parachutes. Oh.. and government health care would let you chose ANY doctor, not just those that are 'in network'. Wow. Sounds like a horrible deal.
