Very few people are unemployed, they are just underpaid. 20 yrs ago there were many jobs paying 20 - 30 an hour. Most of these new jobs you talk about are 8 -15 an hr. People have to work 2 jobs to pay the bills. Of course there are plenty of satisfied people answering who make good money, but they are a much smaller percentage of the population. The economy is great for the wealthy and highly educated, it sucks for the average american. As Bush said, it is ok that our jobs are moving overseas because there is plenty of work here; ie low paid service economy jobs instead of unionized manufacturing jobs that pay a livable wage. It gets worse all the time, and yes he is playing around with the math.

We are close to reaching the 1 Trillion cost mark for both wars and we can't even take care of our federal bridges or help our fellow Americans in New Orleans. This Pres has dishonored our integrity as a nation and is catapulting us into a 3rd world country.
P.s. I like your Avatar...what a idiot he was to do that.

Not bad since 9/11 wouldn't you agree? Unfortunately house lending practices is putting a strain on it. Until housing lenders "malpractices" can be worked out the economy will worsen.

It is fact. Even the left wing liberal loonies acknowledge it. Even in Southwestern Pennsylvania, where the collapse of the steel industry cost hundreds of thousands of jobs, the unemployment rate is 3.8%.

If you can afford to buy - it's great. If you are trying to sell or stuck in the middle - it's bad. It's always bad in the middle.
