Open up a Scottrade account, save, research and invest? Oh, wait, to research a stock you have to first research the economy, which would mean at some point you'd have to confront the fact that the class warfare rhetoric just bears no resemblance to reality - - - - -hmmmmm, to admit you're wrong and make yourself better off, or to avoid having to admit you're wrong.........

That choice is what separates the Liberals from the rest of us....

My dad says that, unlike liberals, many conservatives feel blessed to live in this country and want to give something back to the greatest nation on God's Green Earth. This is why conservatives give more to charity and make up 80% of the armed forces. Liberals are just along for the ride!

I have said here many times that both sides in the abortion debate seem to be talking past each other. Pro-lifers are concerned with the baby, and pro-choicers with the woman. It's a gross generalization, but true enough in many ways.

And there seem to be two main justifications for abortion - one, the woman's personal autonomy, and two, the fact that any child born would somehow live a bad life.

But the second argument could be extended to other groups than unborn children.

So, my question is - are there arguments that would support legalized abortion that would not also support the termination of a newborn?

And should we focus on those arguments in debating the issue?

My personal opinion is that those arguments merit more consideration, for what it's worth.

Although I would not label myself strictly on either side.

What do you think?

1 - 10 of about 18,200,000 for Lawyers and health care - 0.29 sec. (
Thats a lot of people involved in health care that have no medical training at all .

Just type in lawyers and health care and maybe you will see one of the problems .

That many people leaching of a system to help people is unconscionable .

Hey you may not like it but we are all going to die .

Do you some how think that a doctor intentionally wants to kill a patient .

I think if he did not try saving your life you would be dead in 99.9% of the cases .

Sometimes , in fact almost always , we agree with the majority of what our candidate says . It's impossible to agree with everything any one person says . So , often we vote for a candidate while over-looking small disagreements that don't appear to have an over-whelming effect on us personally .
But Hillary's plan of redistribution of wealth will affect EVERYONE and change the entire course and foundation of our great country .
First , I wonder how many Hillary supporters are even aware or informed of her plan ?

And second , I wonder how many Hillary supporters agree with her plan ?

Will that keep the MUSLIM TERRORISTS from continuing to try to blow up parts of the United Kingdom? Is this political-correctness gone wild?

The ban was put in place as to not offend muslims and 'improve community relations' with Muslims.

Is this the correct thing to do and will it work to alleviate further terrorist attack attempts????

(My dad tells this to me and my conservative sisters all the time)

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat and was for distribution of all wealth.

She felt deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican which she expressed openly. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to higher taxes on the rich & the addition of more government welfare
programs. Based on the lectures that she had participated in and the occasional chat with a professor she felt that for years her father had obviously harbored an evil, even selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

The self professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.

During the 2000 presidential campaign, Soros sponsored two so-called “Shadow Conventions,” held at the same time and in the same cities as the Republican and Democratic Conventions, in Philadelphia and Los Angeles respectively. Their purpose was to promote campaign finance reform. John McCain gave the keynote speech at the Philadelphia “Soros Convention” (as columnist Robert Novak dubbed it), while Russ Feingold did so at the LA event.

As an American who has had dealings with Brits, I feel I must ask this.

Most Brits I have encountered have an affection for tea. They even put it in their adult beverages (e.g. Pimms, numbers 1 through 4). Is this because they cannot think up new names for their tea and alcohol mixes?

If the man has a clear thinking conscience, like me, he must surely be in turmoil. After all, in today's world, there are ample reasons for all clear thinking people to be flagrant pessimists, like me.

We know from Blair that Bush willfully invaded Iraq without a care as to what the outcome would be. We know this from our clear thinking, and not from anything that Bush has said or any written policy. The invasion was undertaken without a care, not a care in the world, as any clear thinking person can see. Do not listen to republicans who might list reasons, or quote from speeches. They are obviously not clear thinkers.

US Veteran just made this claim

"The lame duck was in office for more than a year, and everybody that told him the truth about Iraq, not possessing weapons of mass destruction were shot down by the dictator wannabe."

Can you name ONE - JUST ONE -Person with a reputation to lose, elected officials, Newpapers ect... Who said "Mr. Bush - Iraq has NO WMD's NONE, ZERO, You are lying". Mr. Veteran this should be pretty easy for you since you said 'Everyone told him'.

Here is what I remember;

John Kerry > January 23, 2003
"Without question we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator leading an impressive regime. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. And now he's miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction. His consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction."

They believe that the present level of consumption (thus production) is "unsustainable" though they've thought this for generations and consistently been proven wrong.

They believe that the present methods of production are unsustainable in the long run - but neo-classical economists don't disagree with that. It's just that the price mechanism has always rewarded those who invented new methods and told producers when they had to switch to those new methods, let's use these ones while they're still the most efficient.

They believe in a zero sum game - that if there's a growing income gap it must be that some group is losing out - even though the numbers clearly show otherwise and that, for the most part, the 'groups' aren't even permanent, the differences are between experienced and inexperienced workers.

The only reason I can think of to argue with the appropriateness of the term "Malthusian" to describe the Democrats is that, in the end, Malthus admitted he was wrong.
