For everyone who said ww2 ww1 and all the other wars you still did not convince me that any bad action is the basis for sound judgement and a firm footing on which to build a society that can live in peace .

When we say "War is over if you want it," we mean that if everyone demanded peace instead of another TV set, we'd have peace. - John Lennon (1940-1980)

The fall of the USSR and the events of Eastern Europe has proven, beyond any shadow of doubt, that leftwing economics have been completely discredited. Only Capitalism can create wealth and prosperity for people across the globe. Why then, do some people still cling to Marxism as if the next bloody incarnation will be the 'right' one?

I saw a CNN report about mortgagae fraud. They showed a map of the states with the highest rates of this crime, and California, Nancy's state, was one of them. But I didn't think anything of it until I saw that MARYLAND was also listed, and that's where Pelosi is from! I was APALLED. Anyone know about this?

Obviously the US has made and will make mistakes, but I think it is apparent from our foreign aid, willingness to sacrifice resources and American lives to help others who are being oppressed(WWII, Sadaam in Kuwaitt, Somalia)
that we are trying to help.

Meanwhile, France and others sit back and criticize and talk about how great they are but prove the opposite. For instance the Oil for Food scandals involving French and Russian diplomats and the recent scandal with the French Olympic official.

To think that they were involved with Sadaam behind the back of the UN. Maybe if the sanctions would have been allowed to take their effect there would not have been an Iraq war. Maybe the sanctions would have worked and Sadaam would have surrendered or been overthrown.
No one knows for sure, but we do know that the French were stabbing us and the UN in the back, and then go on to criticize the US when we take out Sadaam.

If we were to take the lead, we'd be criticized for that too. Who thinks we should take the lead and have uni-lateral talks with N. Korea and why. (I think Bush is right)

After all, there are politicians in both parties who behave in ways that Christ would find objectionable. Also, since Jesus is supposed to be the son of God, don't you think that he would be above politics?

Is this more or less true ?Can you make such a simplistic observation -

A lot of Christians and westerner's are on the Jews are God's people and a lot of the Muslims seem to be on the Jews are the devil side

Is it going to be this extraodinary and simplistic sumation that will polarize mankind to the point of world war?

Here is my little opinion - they aren't gods people they aren't devils Theyu don't run the world and they should be treated with no less respect than the guy down the road who hasn't done anything to you and no more respect than the guy down the road that did do somthing for you .

This war is as much your responcibility as it is the politicians .How can you not see the blood on your own hands .
Have we become so detached from what we allow others to do in our name we no longer accept our own responcibility for the deaths in Iraq .

Admittedly, most fundamentalist Christians do vote Republican, but there are also a lot of non-fundamentalist Christians who are liberal Democrats.

Should bipartisan watchdog monitor House and Senate ethics committees?

Perhaps this is why they don't discipline worse offenders such as those who took obvious bribes from Abramhoff? -- they're all at least a little dirty and can't call others on the carpet without being exposed themselves?
