Given the fact that the only thing political partys ever do when they get in powe is lie, and use the out going administration as an excuse not to do what they said they would.

Iraq is a mess. But that's no reason to stop. The U.S. should continue to demonstrate her Supremacy. What country should we invade next?
-One of our Latin American Servants (Colombia, Venezuela)
-Some Middle Eastern Banana Republic (Yemen, Oman)
-Some unknown country in the middle of Easter Europe (Latvia, Belarus)
-An despaired African country (Uganda, Zambia)
-Some unimportant Asian country? (Laos, Camobia, Thailand)

Keep illegals out?
Defeat terrorism?
Spread democracy world wide?

How can the US keep illegals out of the country when we can't keep drugs out? Like a fence or two will really keep out them pesky terrorists and drug smugglers. How can the US government eliminate terrorists when we can't keep guns away from kids in US schools? I think the goals of the government are ambitious but a little too lofty for a bunch of people who can't agree on anything. The solutions presented so far seem as realistic as trying to cover the hole in the ozone with a bandaid. Anyone else out there agree or I just being to demanding by expecting solutions that might actually work?

Seriously - Saddam kept Iraq safe for him and his supporters using all the techniques that Bush and his cronnies want to use now -- from torture to wiretapping. I agree, that's a fair way to keep a country safe. Then, why not just bring the expert on that area? Saddam, as brutal as he is, kept Iraq safe from terrorism, and he really understood the definition of "with us or against us."

I believe two parties for America is not enough - what I propose is have the right-wing form their own party - the Conservative Party of America, make the Republican Party strictly progressive and move it to the center, and keep the Democrats on the left as usual.

If we cannot abide by the UN then maybe we would be better off not having it. It is not the best to be arrogant about it, it needs to be abided by or abolished. We cannot have it both ways to suit the needs of any country. I will abide for this but not for that...that is just crazy thinking on the part of any country.

“As you know, we don’t have relationships with Iran. I mean, that’s ever since the late 1970’s, we have no contact with them, and we’ve totally sanctioned them. In other words, there’s no sanctions-you can’t –we are out of sanctions”—George W. Bush, Annandale, Virginia, August 9, 2004.

Did he just forget that insignificant little time between 1980 and 1988, when we covertly sold arms to Iran (aka the Iran-Contra affair)?
