If the Republicans thought this would gain them some votes, then I'd say yes. But at this point I think they realize it would do them more harm than good, so, no, it's not going to happen. (And, boy, am I glad.) Now, isn't it sad that any consideration for whether such a thing is best for our country or not never comes into play with these decisions?
And, Jesi, I would point out that Iraq was not an imminent threat, either, but that didn't stop our President from sending troops to die over there.

Nope if it's in The Nation it's usually speculative and unfounded conspiracy theory. Look at logic.

The US military is already stretched in Iraq even though recruitment in all branches is fine (except the national guard) with the USMC and USN having to actually turn people away. What you're most likely seeing is some sword waving and possibly some spy flights over Iran. I don't think Iran is stupid enough to go handing weapons to Al-Queda because once they're used then who's the most likely suspect?

Iran.

and what will become of Iran? A vast plain of fiberglass.

I expect lots of showdowns in the UN and finally a negotiation but it's going to be a long 21st century cold war with us playing our role again and Iran playing as the Soviet Union.

Change your bong water and turn off the Cartoon Channel.

Iran is not an imminent threat. We are not going to war with Iran. Kim Jong il's lie about having nuclear weapons will make Russia and Germany rethink their assistance to helping Iran with it's "peaceful" nuclear weapons program.

And China will lay the smack down on NK. So the US doesn't have to worry about wither of these wingnuts.

So it's back to the Democrats talking about the Republicans instead of the issues or their platforms.

Well with N.Korea playing their war drums it just may disrupt the plan before elections. Just like the pedophile scandal.

I think Rove better be preparing for a little " surprise" from N. Korea... and forget Iran for now....However, the best surprise he could give us would be his and his presidents resignation... however, I doubt that.

The stinking Neocons and their sheep supporters (republicans) will do or say anything to keep their stranglehold on the seat of power, even if it will cost the lives of your sons and daughters.
