Keep illegals out?
Defeat terrorism?
Spread democracy world wide?

How can the US keep illegals out of the country when we can't keep drugs out? Like a fence or two will really keep out them pesky terrorists and drug smugglers. How can the US government eliminate terrorists when we can't keep guns away from kids in US schools? I think the goals of the government are ambitious but a little too lofty for a bunch of people who can't agree on anything. The solutions presented so far seem as realistic as trying to cover the hole in the ozone with a bandaid. Anyone else out there agree or I just being to demanding by expecting solutions that might actually work?

Hell no part of are construction, food, and cleaning services depends on millions of illegals.

Hell no Terrorism is like crabs you may kill your crabs off but they will just pop up again in a new place.

Hell no Having every one including Religious nut jobs go for Democracy would be as easy as getting OJ to finally say he did it.

1.Illegals dont need to be kept out, if they really wanted to solve the illegal problem, they could help by making mexico into a flourishing country. The republicans want the illegals here so that big business can use them for slave wages and not have to pay taxes. If they truly wanted to keep illegals out they would go after the companies that hire them instead of the illegals.
What they do is the equivalent to arresting the 15 year old kid with a dime bag on him, instead of arrresting the guy he bought the pot from and getting him to say where he got his from.

2.As far as defeating terrorism alot of this terrorism is created by the actions of our country for the last 50 years. If you will study americas history you will see that we are responsible for countless atrocities throughout time. We install brutal dictators and overthrow democratically elected presidents b/c the dictator will play ball and do what we want. We dont care about the rights of the citizens of any country as long as we get our way.
Our government funded the mujahadeen fighters in the late 70s to help defeat russia. We armed Osama bin laden and afghanistan to help us with russia. We essentially created them. As long as we keep interferring there will be terrorism.
3.We dont need to spread democracy world wide, our system of government doesnt work on everyone, and that should never be a goal, to force our ways on others, in turn creating more terrorists.

I agree but think we should never stop trying. In my world the word try doesn't mean keep trying the same thing over and over. As a rule when you try something and it doesn't work, try something else.

An example would be the way we keep overcrowding our prisons with people who sold a bag of pot or got caught using some drug or a woman defending herself against abuse. Or, we already have one fence on the border (at certain locations) why build another? They don't stop illegals from digging a hole!

Our expectation should be that; Law enforcement does their job, when we vote for someone that worries about the poles more than common sense, let's fire them. And my favorite: Let's focus on making people that hate us go away and quit pissing off the ones that used to get along with us.

It's not the system it's us!

Two seperated fences with border patrol does help dramatically. It's more than what was there ever before and-cover your ears now- neither the republicans nor DEMOCRATS ever got around to taking action.
Guns out of schools? How do you think that's the gov't's responsibility? Are you a socialist/democrat?- PS - It's our responsibility-primarily PARENTS- but a socialist/democrat never takes personal responsibility.
You to(o) demanding? No. Just not yet at your peak of understanding world affairs.

Listen, if the government wanted to cure Aids today, they could do it with a click of the finger. If they wanted world peace, feed the hungry, outlaw guns they could do it now, today at the click of a finger. They simply don't want to. Too many groups to please. They have to uplift the groups that pays their way. It is so sad but true. All these problems could be solved in the blink of an eye.

I don't think they can do that. How do you expect them to defeat terrorism when they can't even handle their own country?? The prison is over crowded and the crime rate is high and they go police around the world!?!?
