As a progressive woman, shouldn't she break the shackles of bondage to a white male? What kind of message is she sending the women of America?

Doesn't it indicate that she is in submission to Tom Pelosi, her master (I mean HUSBAND...)?

"White male" - why does race enter into a question that is supposedly about being a progressive woman?

I think a progressive woman should be able to choose whatever name she wants. But on a personal level, though it will never be an issue for me, I would not want to change my name.

Couldn't this fall under the category of "private life?" I don't feel the need to know about the internal dynamics of a persons marriage (though after the whole Clinton saga, thats apparently pretty key for Republicans).

Sometimes women like to use the same name as their kids and save them the kids the hassle of a double barreled name. Yes, I agree its her choice and implying it negates her power, liberalism is just ridiculous. By the way how do you think six letters impose any form of bondage. The message she is sending women of Amrica is that of POWER. LEADERSHIP and PRIDE, everyday she stands up in the Congress for her beliefs, fights for all our rights, man or woman and takes those POWER HUNGRY REPUBLICANS TO TASK!!!!!

SO get over your petty nonesense and find something worthwhile to complain about. GOSH!

Well, if she kept her maiden name, that would be her father's last name, right? So, either way, women can't really win with that one.
As to why: that's really her personal business, isn't it?

Because it's her CHOICE.

Why do Republicans have such a difficult time with the concept of choice?

1 - Who knows why she does any of the things she does (and says).

2 - Dunno - that's a bit of a toughie as he died in a house fire many years ago.

3 - A pretty stupid one (a la Patsy Schroeder), if you ask me.
