Do you think it's a provacative act on the part of NK, and do you think the Navy is justified if it decides to intercept North Korean vessels to be sure no nuclear materials are being sent to them (or, that they're not shipping nuclear materials to someone else)?

I quote, "President Bush may believe he can authorize spying on Americans without judicial or congressional approval, but this program is illegal, and we intend to put a stop to it,"

When are NEOCONs and Repubs going to accept that our Freedoms are being diminished.

I point to these two groups because they have bought the 'Fear Mongering' hook, line and sinker.

NOT THE TRULY POOR who need our help...
I mean the LAZY ones who will NOT work and want the Government to take care of them.

EVERYONE wants to help the poor who are really NEEDY and trying to make a better life for themselves.

I often ask why liberals seem to be so irrational, basing their beliefs on pure emotion. It must have to do with the make up of the brain. Right vs. Left usage and things that go far over my head. For example, have you ever noticed that every artistic person you’ve ever met was a full blown liberal. THIS MUST HAVE TO DO WITH THE MAKE OF YOUR BRAIN ACTIVITY? I think, Im not positive, but the left side of the brain is more artistic, dreamy, and imaginative and the right side is the mathematical, problem solving side.
This must explain some of the more irrational behavior you see. And those that do it wont admit it because they know no better since their brain already reacts a certain way. Speaking sense to them is irrelevant because they will already be geared to think in a certain manner. How else can you explain some of the thought process’. It doesn’t have to do with IQ, like people so often try to say, because there are very intelligent people on both sides of the spectrum.

With your administration making threats against Iran for developing Nuclear wepons which even Western countries admit is the few years away and The Iranians are clearly stating they are not developing nuclear wepons. Now the North Koreans have been admitting they have the bomb years ago and have infact gone ahead and actually tested a nuclear wepon. This is a bigger threat to U.S security as North Korea has submarines with ballastic missiles which can reach U.S shores. For the nuclear powered north Korea Washington wants them to return to the six party talk with other countries and for a non nuclear Iran which is some years behind developing the Nuclear bomb, denies making the bomb use of force is not ruled out.

It seems like the conservatives on Y answers think that all poor people are lazy and stupid. Do you folks know any real poor people? Have you ever gone to a real food cupboard? Have you volunteered at a homeless shelter?

I'm having a hard time understanding the animosity towards people who are poor.

Help me out.

Ecoli has been a constant threat because agribusiness money making is more a priority than public safety.
It's because of cow feces. Always was. And yes, that is cow feces in your burger, and yes, it can kill you.

Bush said reaction would be ‘swift and immediate’.
What reaction?

Did North Korea conduct and/or fake a nuclear test just to make Bush say ‘nuclear’ on TV?

Sanctions (UN's favourite response) won't stop North Korea. That will only make the people of the North suffer under harder conditions. The party members and Kim will still have everything they need. How is depriving food or power to NK going to help the people there who are already starving and miserable?
Should the UN resort to military action to finally crush Kim Jong-il?

Try not to have a knee jerk reaction to this. Peace is not conservative or liberal. Peaceful solutions benefit all people. Think about it. Does it make sense? Is it something worth having?

Thoughtful replies only please.

Is there an endless supply of troops in America?
Who will fight all these wars and "police" our world?

How many more people would there be today to fight real threats if so many hadn't already died in vain for pointless wars like Vietnam and Iraq?

Is this why Bushie Co. is so friendly about immigrants? You know as soon as our government wants to put those people out to fight our wars, they will run right back to their own country.

The world's going to pay for not crushing N Korea years ago. I bet every1 who knocked & scourned Bush for wanting to stop NK will regret their words!

So many analysts and political hot-shots were saying that we should just leave N korea alone back when they were test firing missles into Japanese air space. They were soooo many years from producing long range weaponry or nuclear weapons.

Yeeeeeeah.

Where are those people now?

... to back anything up?

Is that sort of like the "intelligence" about Iraq having WMD, do those tiny viles of mustard gas held by an unthreatening jerky dictator who kept al -qaeda out of his country scare you more than North Korea's nuclear bombs, million man army, brutal totalitarian dictatorship and need to "prove" something to America, just incase we get any bright ideas?
How will we be able to fight a hostile nation like that when we are spread so thin militarily in constant Middle Eastern conflicts done for questionable reasons?
