The society I want to live in provides a good public education, good military defense, good roads and other public services. These things don't come cheap. I've gotten many benefits from this society why shouldn't I pay more? Why should the middle and working class be taxed beyond their means. This is what WILL happen if the rich and upper middle get more breaks.

The 2nd amendment reads;

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Should we be allowed to stockpile bomb making material? Blasting caps? Nitrogen fertilizer in mass quantities? Nuclear devices? Dirty bombs? Infectious biological agents? Neurotoxins? Rocket launchers?

If my neighbor is a nuclear physicist doesn't the second amendment allow him to set up a missile launch pad with nuclear devices on board?

Would anyone think the second amendment applies to any of these? I hope not, but I hope you can see my point that they are not legal because they are a significant threat to the health and safety of all citizens. They are also inanimate objects (like automatic assault weapons). The sole purpose for owning an assault weapon is for killing. Their proliferation is a public safety threat - numerous studies comparing countries with and without them has shown it. Response?

We have lost 3000 americans in this war and wounded another 25,000 to bring freedom to a bunch of people that do not know what it is .Voting is not freedom .It is what you vote for .They want jails and killing and torture of there enimies .Sunni shia whatever each side hates the other and wants to harm them .
Imagine the south during the civil rights movment if it was ok to just kill as many as you wanted to put down the uprising .America is the police in this battle between religious groups in Iraq And one thing the police and military got during the civil rights movment was a black EYE .
Lets learn from our own history and accept that these people do not needs us at this time .They are not ready for freedom .

Whatever the Bush administration has done wrong, at least they are not cowards during a time of war.

I do. Al Qaeda has nuclear weapons, according to a reporter who talked to someone who talked to U Bin Laden. Also, Usama has warned the US three times (according to Muslim tradition). Also, Usama tried to warn all American Muslims to leave all US cities.

New York is going to be nuked soon.

It's just logical, anyways think aout it. Al Qaeda has been stepping up their attacks since 1993, and has sworn to destroy the US.

Here's my idea, substitute the word "Clinton" with the phrase "our own incompetence". Try this on the Republican answers to many questions. It works great.

Which would you rather have? A government that imposes laws which take away your rights but also prevent terrorist attacks from happening, or a government that doesn't take away freedoms and reacts to terrorist attacks while doing very little to prevent them?
