It's the simple transitive property found in mathematics:

Allowing assault weapons is idiotic. Bush is idiotic. Hence, Bush allows assault weapons.

Yeah, AK-47 isn't outlawed by the ban on assault weapons. The Ban was functionally meaningless. The AK-47is illeagal by the ATF controlled weapons standards of 47 states. They require a federal permit in the other states. Hunters can take down bears with their bare hands, they can also survive perfectly well without the right to speak out against their government or practice the religion of their choosing, but they have a right to have them. It is the right of every American citizen to own a weapon for their own protection and to empower the civiliain population against the state, and they should serve prison time if they allow a child to walk into a school with them.

Because the whole assault weapons issue was completely overblown over a few high profile incidents. Assault rifles were never used much by criminals or gangs.

People who actually know how guns work know that assault weapons are less powerful than hunting rifles, and operate exactly the same as any other semi-automatic (NOT FULL AUTO) firearm. One pull of the trigger for one shot.

I once saw this video done by a police officer and it shows how he transformed this beautiful hunting rifle, with a nice wood stock, into an "assault rifle." All he did was make cosmetic changes. Nothing he did actually effected the mechanics of the rifle. He changed the stock, added a grip, put a flash suppressor on the barrell, and added a higher capacity magazine, and Presto! there was an "assault rifle."

The whole thing was a fiasco and it's good that the law has died it's natural death.

first of all,i own 5 separate assault rifles..i am a us citizen and this is my right guaranteed me by the constitution and the bill of rights..who are you to tell any law abiding citizen that they can't have these? we use them at the range and have several competitions with them..they are in a safe when not in use..i have a semi automatic pistol also that i carry all the time..again,i am not mentally disadvantaged or ill ! you should be ashamed to even ask this question, it's like me asking you to give up your drivers license for no reason .. why can't you people understand that..he can't change the rights about guns there are enough laws in place now,,guns don't kill people ..people kill people..

Assault weapons are not for hunting. They are for overthrowing the government when it becomes too oppressive. That is what the 2nd amendment is about.

Assault Weapon is only a lable made up by antigun Nazis to scare idiots. Machine guns are highly regulated.

The kid needs to go to prison for life.

like everything else, it is the responsibility of the boy's parents to train him to be a moral citizen. it is not the responsibility of the federal government to watch over everyones children for them like a nanny. it is likely that he obtained the weapon using illegal channels anyway. you are a holophobe. assault weapons are not evil. they are made of metal and wood. they are inanimate objects. people who use assault weapons irresponsibly are evil. if youll look over the text of the clinto assault weapons ban, youll see that most of the features listed that mr clinton thinks make an assault weapon are actually safety features.

you are a weakling. you are morally and physically incapable of responsible ownership of a firearm, so you want to take that right away from everyone.

Because the law was a violation of our rights in the first place. Funny thing is that a week after the ban started, a load of 200 full auto AK-47's was caught being smuggled into the country in San Francisco. Guess them laws really do apply to the law abiding.
