It's not just the United States but, you're asking a valid question. First Hiroshima and Nagasaki where an entirely different situation. Truman had to make a decision on whether to forfeit 100's of thousands of lives (US & Japan) which would have occured if we had hit the shores of Japan with conventional weapons during the final round. As you may or may not remember, Japan was not going to give up it's fight for the Emporer and surrender was not an option.

Next, Kim ill Jong is a maniac. China and Russia would not be condeming this test if they didn't already know this to be true. So, we turn into the bad guys again by people that are thinking we are hypocrites.

By the way, while all this is happening Hugo is in England telling any one who will listen that we want to start a war with Iran. Being hypocritical seems like it would be the lesser of the evils if so much other crap wasn't happening.

I'd have to agree with you, but with one further observation: What else could the world expect after Iraq? The biggest lesson that Kim Jong Il has learned from America's invasion of Iraq (and don't forget - we were the aggessor in this case, 9/11 had nothing to do with Saddam) is that without nukes, every tin-pot dictator that the Neocons don't like is "fair game". North Korea is just reacting in exactly the way anyone else would when confronted with a violent and motivated enemy - they armed themselves.

Check out the link for a lot more hard information about NK - they are armed, dangerous, but definitely not crazy.

We have every right to be "up in arms" about N. Korea. They are an enemy nation with a psychotic leader. Don't be surprised if the Japanese and perhaps even the S. Koreans now develop nuclear weapons in response. And what in blazes does our having nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki have to do with anything? Japan attacked us, remember? Besides, we have a right to do whatever is necessary to ensure our national security and that includes preventing enemy nations from going nuclear. Absolutely no justification for this is necessary beyond it being in America's security interest.

hypocritical indeed!

America is like "the good guys" and north korea are the bad guys. In this world no country is "the good guys".

The powerful countries can do what they want, and what they say must be right. The less powerful countries just get bullied.

China is not a democratic country, but China has done nuclear testing as well, why isn't the USA telling China what to do?

Because WE are the super power (or so we think) not f-ing North Korea. Kim Jong is very sparratic and likes attention, hence why hes doing all this nuclear arms crap. Soon enough the US, China, Japan, North Korea, and South Korea are all going to be in an arms race and it will lead to WW3 where we'll blow up Earth. But for now, We'RE the super power, not China, not India and DEFINITLY not North Korea

PS i am aware i didnt really answer your question, but thats just my two cents and there really wasnt' a question there to be answered.

I think the yanks are quite happy, now the North Koreans have the nuclear bomb they can also be used against them, equal force. So that fact should make it safer as with Russia in the 60s, the first strike means nothing except your going to get some heavy kit in return and everyone loses.

Nuclear try in North Korea will bring about nuclear palms race in East Asia, yet nullifying purpose of nuclear proliferation which makes many different international locations to arm such WMD. international locations like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan would not have nuclear weapon, yet they have the technologies to realize this. the key serious concern approximately it is that by potential of settlement/alliance, would desire to if US invade North Korea, North Korea can and could maximum possibly bombard South Korea with artillery besides as chemical/bio weapons. additionally missile try in couple months additionally shown and point out it could hit everywhere in Japan with some precision. If South Korea and/or Japan is going conflict with North Korea or probably nuked, maximum possibly total international will a great deal affected politically and economically critically in assessment to 9/11.

N Korea nearly starved to death because of Jong's Communist regime. Anyone who doesn't think Jong is bad is slow.
