NK is insisting on bi-lateral talks with the US. The US wants multi-lateral talks so the countries that are most effected by NK's nuclear aspirations are part of the solution.
The test of a small device is once again trying to force the US into the bi-lateral talks. This form of terrosism should not be accepted and the US should maintian it's original position of not entering any talks except multi-lateral.

I knew KrazyKim would be nuts enough to test his nuke but I think even he knows that any actual attack on another country and that's the end of him.
Sanctions are a joke since the only ones who suffer from sanctions will be the actual people of N Korea who are already suffering under Kim.
The navy has every right to search N Korean ships but I also think in Kim's eyes this will be an act of war and he'll use that as an excuse to start fights with anyone else.

Its a crazy move. Kim Jung II is just trying everything he can to hang on. Just look at the fate of Saddam when he got caught.
I think the only thing that prevents outright war is diplomacy. None of the crap about sanctions. We cant afford to wait for 10 years, 20 years of negotiation by that time nuclear warheads might already be aimed towards Hollywood. Either diplomacy succeeds fast or US might be forced to act. Time is against the allies. I personally think invasion is a matter of time if N Korea insists on going down the path they are currently walking.

They are entitled to test anything on their soil. Have the experience and working knowledge. But, once the testing is over they need to defensively arm themselves and work on something else. Any aggressive actions should be dealt with harshly. Yes, I know, they are armed therefore they can kill many before punishment arrives. Thats the world we live in. You can't stop a nation that really wants to achieve something. Otherwise we would be posting right now because there would be no internet.

My reaction makes me think of the Korean War.. maybe that General shouldn't of invaded China for fun, and should've focused on Korea.

I am still trying to figure out what it means besides the obvious of not being good. CNN last night said a deal was almost worked out a couple of years ago for N. Korea to stop its bomb project but Bush screwed that deal up--who knows? May be true, may not be. I am sure of one thing, Bush and the Republicans will try and blame it on President Clinton again, just like they always try to blame everything on him.

i don't want a military regime right next door to my country developing and testing nuclear weapons because their next step will be to invade south Korea then UN ,US and Australian troops will have to go in and intervene and i think we have enough on our plates with Iraq.

This is a provocative act. How soon does the U.S. invade? This is much more evident than any presumed WMD's in Iraq.
