Just read where Jenna Bush (one of Bush's twin daughters) has announced her engagement. Is this a final plot by Karl Rove to get a boost to Bush's popularity?

OK. So I thought Pentagon employees were relatively smart. How in the HELL do they not catch this sooner. I mean, you would think their computer databases would flag a million dollar shipping charge...lol.

If the "people" have appoint Congress, and only Congress can tax, then how are the IRS (A non-governmental agency), get to do so. When did Congress Grant Authority, when did the people vote on this, and was the legislation clear. If no records of these exist, then why are we paying a non-governmental agency our taxes? They also "enforce" tax code, and to enforce anything on a federal level, there must be proper "delegation of authority" from Congress and on public record.. I live in D.C and have visited the Archives, and U.S Dept of State.......No delegation of authority was available.....Hum..........What's really going on? Are we too smart...........or have we accepted bad government as a way of life?

Could it be the conservative values that are taught in public schools, you know, Love God Country and family, don't do drugs or have sex as a child?

Oh wait, my bad, none of those are allowed in today's oh so tolllllllllerant and open miiiiiiiiiiinded liberal run public indoctrination camps!!!! we know what's taught there! Hate God, America and mom dad and baby and apple pie! Do what makes you feeeeeeeeeeeel good!
Or is the vast "right wing" conspiracy to blame for the continued rise in drug abuse by children? Ya know, the rampant decline of married couples actually raising children?

Oh wait, it's a liberal policy to seek a career over raising your children! My bad again!

Dunno, but it's got to the fault of those pesky christians and their preaching! it's driving to do drugs right?

Gee wally, what could it be?!!!
remember when you read the story this is COLUMBIA University conducting the study, a radical lefty indoctrination camp, errr college

I am hearing political and news comentary similar to the pre-invasion rhetoric which preceded the invasion of Iraq. It appears some of our top officials are intent in establishing a case for the invasion of Iran. It appears our only interest in these countries is their oil resourse. Is the USA justified if our only interest is oil, and oh yea, democracy?

Our government seems more and more concerned with capitalism and less and less concerned with democracy.

Have we completely betrayed the founding fathers hopes for this country? America was formed when it was a slave-holding country, so hypocrisy regarding democracy is nothing new.

However, by not impeaching Bush and Cheney, we are allowing them to forever change the nature of the presidency; instead of being beholden to congress, the executive branch is in danger of being transformed into a dictatorship beholden to no one.

In America, money rules; the people no longer seem to.

And most disturbingly there is no public outcry, no anti-war marches of any significant number. We are sliding into totalitarianism because...almost no one in America cares.

So what if America now ranks #36 in life expectancy? As long as the rich have access to health care, the fate of the common man is of little concern to anyone, INCLUDING the common man himself/herself.

I have a family member who is about to graduate from college with excellent grades, proven athletic ability, and an aptitude for music. His neighborhood is very close to Dulles Airport, where on 9/11 highjackers commandeered a plane and tried to hit the Pentagon. He was deeply affected.
I’ve been asked if joining the military and serving in combat would the best thing he could do for the country. His great uncle served as an Engineer deactivating Rommel’s mines on Omaha Beach shortly before the full invasion began. We’re all proud of our uncle.
However, I heard Vice President Cheney say that the reason he did not serve in combat in Vietnam was the he had ‘more important things to do.’ However Mr. Cheney hasn’t said what those things are.
I’m hoping somebody can tell me what Cheney did that was more important than combat service. I would like to be able to give my family member a solid answer. And if what Cheney did was better than servicing, I could suggest the same course.

deleted: they have pretty much accomplished this agenda with the assistance of the ACLU and the liberal courts who allow sociopaths to be released and committ henious atrocities against average american citizens living their daily lives. i have seen much in my years, there are no heroes anymore. the main issue is that no one wants to accept consequences for their actions or personal responsibilities. it is always someone else's fault.. the ACLU is a big factor in that. movies and games that glorify sex and violence and desensitize our childrene to suffering. athletes who are paid obscene amount of money and musicians glorifying thugs and violence and degrading women and they have no morals or ethics. hollywood, the media, unethical politicians ..etc

Was watching a program on PBS last night about the 1960's (although they did go into the early years of the 70's). They spoke with reverence of the shooting of the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King, but they seem to despise George Wallace who was also shot during that time period. Since George Wallace was also shot during that time frame, was is he not also remembered with fond memories?

U.S. Army soldiers worldwide took their own life at the highest rate in 26 years, and more than 25 percent did so while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a new military report. The winner for best documentary at last years tribecca film festival was made by soldiers serving in Iraq that stated...."providing democracy for iraqis is the last thing on our todo list, providing security for halliburton projects is our #1 priority."

I call upon all US citizens to create a super petition calling for President Bush to be tried for treason. Why? Is not decieving the public and armed forces in a way that will cause and ultimately harm the nation treason? Is this not what spies, sabatuers, terrorists actually do? Consider what he has done, the cost of US lives, resources, damage to global influence he has done. He wilfully decided to hide the truth and decieved the senate for their approval! I heard no one is above the law, and the power of any government is based within the people's willingness to act and grant power to a person. It's time for the nation once again to bring this message to the government that the people do not work for them, they work for US!! We elect a leader to lead us through trust and belief in their ability. Dubya has decieved us, he should be tried under the conditions. Time Dubya and his administration learned this lesson and paid the price for his crimes.
