Feds to suspend border passport rule
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration is poised to suspend a major post-9/11 security initiative to cope with increasingly angry complaints from Americans whose summer vacations are threatened by new passport rules.

What about the uproar over TB guy getting through security with a red flag on his passport info and Bush saying OBL was threatening another attack? Isn't this stupid to relax border security?

Based on what the Senate Judiciary Committee did today the Democrats are giving me every indication that if al-qaeda wanted Los Angeles as their new base in the US, the Senate would say okay.

When do you think the senate will get it, they are supposed to represent the States, not the terrorists.

So which port is the Senate going to designate a nuclear weapon introduction zone?

This guys have gone too far, first the travesty called amnesty and no this. Keep this in mind when you go to vote in 08, who is giving our country away to our enemies.

I've been looking at political configurations in the last thirty years, specifically in Asia. Even more specifically, Russia, Israel, Iraq, Iran, China, and North Korea. The way things are going, I see Russia and China aiding Iran to wage war on Israel. The U.S. will have to intervene. A democratic Iraq will aid them, as long as we don't pull out before we have a Democratic Iraq. Due to technological advances, the War will be over in a year or so. Any opinions

If you want to vent about either or all parties, be my guest. Living in Connecticut and was a Democrat I am disappointed in all the rhetoric and no action going on. I switched to the Independent Party this week, because the state legislature did not pass any legislation that would benefit the population. At this point I am fed up. What about you? The best outrageous answer gets the 10 points.

I mean for real! Who entitled the losers to stand up and try to take over everything? What flew up their noses? Ever notice how before Sept. 11th not to many people had real nice cars, now it seams everyone has a nice car, and the credit system is more important than cash? A poor man who has good credit can have more than someone with a large cash income. I call it American communism, fascism, socialism, whatever it means everyone is entitled to equal wealth, while the top wealthy people live rediculously lavish. This is crap, and in no way does this reflect pure American capitalism where there was a great number of the haves and have nots. Who like the America in the 90's better?

Some of these poor nations owe the United States millions or billions of dollars. To "just forgive" the debt not only sets a bad precedent, but it gives the country no incentive to get their house in order.

I have an idea.

What if we told a nation that they could pay us in LAND? That is, we would specifiy several vast tracts of land (each would have water supplies and certain benefits that we wish to obtain).

If given to us in exchange for debt. It become American territory.

But several good things happen:

We create jobs for the other nation when we come to settle.

We agree to trade and commerce with them, further enriching them.

They are now debt-free to America.

We agree to buy certain resources (for settling) from them. And as industry and business and schools come, they can partake.

Our military presence serves as an umbrella of protection and order to the surrounding nations.

Etc.

Thoughts?

Before we start with the "angels " stuff and would I complain if they were saving my life.
They are paid to do a job. They are paid far in excess of employees in like for like industries with equivalent skills.
They dont nurse for the love of the job, they get paid and paid well.
every person in any job is just as necessary but dont carry the romantic image of florence nightingale.
Nurses are getting to a point where they think they are above many of the jobs they ought to be doping in hospitals, hence the spread of mrsa.
if they want doctors wages then perhaps they should spend years at university, like doctors do.

What procedures should be in place if the terrorists are successful next time and wipe out the entire Congress?

Remember this could happen in an Obama Administration too. I am looking for ideas.

What I want to know is what actions should the states and Federal government take in such a situation as the Presiednt is now the lone power. Having just read The Broken Branch by Thomas E. Mann and Norman J. Ornstein, I was a little disturbed that there is no plan and worse, election officials cannot even forsee holding an election until they have had over 75 days to plan it. The English can do one in a month and we can't hold a quick one in two?

For the spin doctor's i am American & vote but know how worthless it is! The legal citizen majority need ultimate rule & control on a consensus basis. Under a True Direct consensus Democracy. Legally of/by/for the people. End the reign of the wealthy few! Yes it can be done & the wealthy few ain't stealing everything for themselves.

I recently read an article about some place they wanted to make it madatory that providers approve and pay for sexual reassignment surgery, and I am sure all the the "prep" and all else that goes with it.

With the Universal Health Insurance idea, woudl these types of procedures be allowed?

What other things woudl be next? Would we start paying for abortions, voluntary amputations, pectoral implants, hair transplants? what, what else?
