Whether they are gay, loners, somebody in their mid/late 30s single(never married) and childless etc, etc. I mean even if they mean nobody harm they still get ridiculed for being different in America!!! Why do we live in a society of lemmings that all life is a one size fits all?

Of course this has not yet happened. Well, atleast it hasn't happened in over 60 years. But what if? Could France and Britain fight them off? Would America come to the aid of the British and French? Or would America stay out of the fight for fear of violating the rule of "national soveregnity" like it did in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Based on the anti-Americanism from Britain and France - which America sees everyday - would the US help those 2 countries? Should America help those 2 countries - only to increase anti-American sentiment - for "sticking its nose in other countries buisness" again?

What do you think would happen.

While I would agree that global peace is the only goal we should seek as a people, and while I would LOVE to believe that the USA is the nation pressing forth to achieve this goal for our planet, I cannot help but to recognize the reality of the UNANSWERED questions regarding who is truly responsible for 9/11 and, the significance of 9/11 as a catalyst for a global war on terror.

The fact that the USA is pressing forth in the pursuit of those groups that cannot accept their places on this planet, ie the Hamas vs. Israel situation, it is recognized by me that the ongoing struggle in that region will never end until one or the other is eradicated. It is further recognized that at some point it must happen for global peace to exist, AND that someone is going to have to do it. HOWEVER....

I cannot allow myself to support the cleansing of the planet as long as I believe that our govt did 9/11 and 9/11 is the catalyst for the cleansing.

I believe 9/11 needs to be re-investigated.

We're suppose to leave Iraq unfinished. Iran is becoming more and more of a real threat. Since America is not united and will not stand behind its military and has proven it does not have the stomach for a fight why would any country fear the U.S.?

I was told yesterday by an answerer that Nazis were left wing liberals "such as myself" because they had the word "socialist" in their party name. It was a jaw dropping moment but it also worries me that this kind of ignorance of politics and history might be more widespread than I originally thought. PLEASE REASSURE ME THIS ISN'T TRUE!

The United States has problems that can't be explained in a sound bite. The Media on both sides of the political spectrum has done a poor job informing the voters, because of time limits. Would you consider a longer debate in order to be better informed in the form of a Lincoln-Douglas Debate where several hours were used to bring ideas to the voters attention. In this manner political consultants influence would be reduced, the politicians would be able to offer solutions, and the Media would carry the debates commercial free, and the chattering classes would be required to be silent until the debates were concluded. There would be a moderator to watch the time.

Call it a subcategory of "analysis paralysis". Is everyone so set, on their ideology, that no concensus can ever be reached on any issue? Does the government benefit, and even promote, this deadlock amongst the populace; or are they simply left waiting for the people to play their role in this Democracy and tell them what actions to take?

I Have some humble opinions on this one. (surprise) 1. Over consumption/pollution. Solution: divert all global oil subsidies to r and d and use of green energy (solar, wind, hydroelectic, electromagnetic, geothermal, etc) 2. Overpopulation. Solution: stablize world govts through U.N. emphasis on basic human rights and elimination of economic/political corruption. Global education K-12 (especially for females) with a strong, early critical thinking component. 3. Current wealth distribution. Solution: U.N. discussion of global tax code along progressive lines for income, capital gains and estates. Example. Income: $0-$30,000:0%, $30.000-$40,000:5%, $40,000-$50,000:10%, $50,000-$100,000:20%, $100,000-$200,000:25%, $200,000-$300,000:30% $300,000-$400,000:35% $400,000-$500,000:40%, $500,000-$600,000:45% $600,000-$700,000:50%, $700,000-$800,000:55%, $800,000-$900,000:60%, $900,000-$1,000,000:65%, $1,000,000+:70%. The numbers are negotiable, it's the principle I'm trying to get accross.

Once the fighting is all done in Iraq, Bush will have killed all of the terrorists in the world, right?
We are there to fight the war on terror? And when we win that war, terror will be defeated, right?
I can't wait until there's no more fighting anywhere in the world.

If there is no basis in our constitution supporting the establishment of entitlement programs based upon benevolence of the "less fortunate", are not these then socialistic terrorist attacks against our way of life? Are not then all such "social" programs (universal health care, medicare/medicaid, social security, farm support, food stamps, housing aid etc etc) all designed to attack our Constitutional Republic in a subversive manner much the same as Islamic terrorist do on an overt basis?
