We're suppose to leave Iraq unfinished. Iran is becoming more and more of a real threat. Since America is not united and will not stand behind its military and has proven it does not have the stomach for a fight why would any country fear the U.S.?

America won the war in Iraq in less time than it took you to write your question! America has not taste for a Civil Religious War & that is what is happening in Iraq now. We have stayed to try & help the people rebuild Iraq but the fanitics are hampering our progress in that mission.
How many of the other nations leaders have you spoken with? If the world did not believe that we were a presence not to be taken lightly, don't you think they would have made a move by now?
America is not at its best when protecting countries who's wars do not affect us personally. But when fighting for this country, you can bet that everyone in the world knows, we will fight. Even though Korea was really none of our business, our troops were superb & fought valiantly. Same in Vietnam, nothing wrong with our fighting men, just the men who sent them into wars that really did not have anything to do with our national defense.

Because the United States of America is as good once as it ever was, but not good for long occupations - not that the military can't handle, but the American people can not handle it.

When ever we need to obliterate something, someone, or some regime, we can do it - But we must have a plan to get out, quick, and not linger around for decades like we have in Japan, Germany, Korea, and elsewhere. The world and Americans are sick of us trying to be the world's policeman.

Time to let the world know what we are willing to fight or and what we are not. Obviously, the American people don't think fighting terrorism over there is the way to do it.

But we can still kick *** and the world knows it.

Is a good parent good only when it's children fear the parent? Or should a parent teach its children and act in such a way that the child respects?

Joe Biden, Democrat has the best plan for stabilizing Iraq and bringing our troops home.

It's not the military we don't stand behind-I would never be disrespectful of any veteran as many Republicans did with John Kerry. GW, I'm having a hard time seeing what plan he might have-do you?

You sadly couldn't be more right. I fear what will happen next. Isn't it so unreal that our country that has always been as strong as ours will be brought down by it's own people. The amazing thing is when the terrorists cheered on Kerry the Democrats didn't get it then and now that they are doing a victory dance they still don't get it.

Protests are certainly no longer "riots" Elections are certainly no longer "invasions". Fox isn't guidance. A channel that splices in photos of a good larger rally to make the Tea social gathering look greater is a faux guidance business enterprise. A channel that shows photos of protesters in CALIFORNIA on the comparable time as talking approximately "violence" of protesters in Wisconsin is a faux guidance business enterprise. A channel that publicizes James O'Keefe wore a "pimp wholesome" to ACORN places of work, mutually as the unedited photos shows that he for sure did no longer, is a faux guidance business enterprise.

Actually, it was the republicans led by the Incompetent Bush. He has shown the world that he has no idea what he is doing. He allowed Cheney and Rumsfeld to take what should have been a straight forward process and reduce it to an incomprehensible mess. Now everyone thinks we're too stupid to do what is right.

Next is to restore the peace and respect United States once had before any conservatives were empowered into the office.

As Osama bin Laden puts it: "In this final phase of the ongoing struggle, the world of the infidels was divided between two superpowers--the United States and the Soviet Union. Now we have defeated and destroyed the more difficult and the more dangerous of the two. DEALING WITH THE PAMPERED AND EFFEMINATE AMERICANS WILL BE EASY."

Oh no, don't get me started.

America is in trouble...BIG trouble!

We are now perceived as a nation of wimps with an ineffective military that cannot stand up to the threats that face us from nations run by radical, crazy dictators or religious fanatics whose only goal is to sap our energy and our will and intimidate and hold us hostage with threats of beheadings and nuclear annihilation.

A good example of course is the latest fiasco in Washington where the narrow-minded, left-wing liberal idiots showed the world what they do with their valuable time...and tax payer's money...
a hollow, meaningless, show of hands to send a message to the Bush administration that they do not support the effort to send more troops into Iraq to finally put an end to the conflict between Iraqi Sunni and Shi'a Islam religious factions which has escalated into sectarian violence that is defeating the effort to bring democracy into that country and region...what a ridiculous WASTE of time and taxpayer's money.

Diplomacy, while a practical approach to avoiding conflict between the U.S. and nations like North Korea and Iran, is nothing more than a reduction of our effectiveness down to a "discussion", while Kim Jong-il, about as crazy as they get, continues to build and improve his reactors and weapons program, launches test missiles that can now reach the West coast of the United States and successfully tests his nuclear weaponry while we sit at the table and listen intently as they offer to halt their country's nuclear program in exchange for 500,000 tons of fuel oil a year and a lifting of financial sanctions...there's a name for this folks...being held for RANSOM.

North Korea claims to have reprocessed spent fuel rods and has threatened to begin exporting nuclear materials unless the United States agreed to one-on-one talks with the North Koreans..who have backtracked and lied to us in the past and are lying once again.
Fortunately we insisted on six-party talks to include both Koreas, China, Japan and Russia.

We brag about successful negotiations that will bring a "permanent" halt to North Korea proliferation and the next day you hear from the North Koreans..."uh no, we meant only a 30 day suspension of our nuclear reactors, not a permanent dismantling."

We are being duped ladies and gentlemen by international sleight of hand, and the Democratic majority now in both houses in Washington is NOT the answer, it is the problem...and the path to further weakening of our effectiveness in dealing with the new threats facing us today.
It's the liberals who want to stop spending to support the troops in Iraq...It's the liberals who want to pull out of Iraq before the job is done and have the lives of over 3000 American troops mean absolutely nothing.

WAKE UP AMERICA! "For the times, they have changed."

Err. we bombed parts of that country back to the stone age....twice.

If I were another country, i'd be more afraid that the US would destroy my country and then leave.

But that's probably too logical for discussions in this forum
