Put c-span1 on right now.

The democrats are trying to raise taxes to U.S. oil companies, without raising them on foreign ones.

Do they think the oil companies will just absorb that loss themselves? Do they not realize that will affect gas prices?

I thought they wanted to reduce our dependance on foreign oil?

I find it curious that congress is spending time on ethics legislatoin. The concept of ethics would denote no need to define ethics, as an ethical person is naturally ethical. If one requires a guideline for ethics in order to govern our country, perhaps there are no ethics. That they even have to ponder what is right and wrong shows in the results that they have produced in the last decade for the lower to middle class, which is nearly 80% of the population. Nothing. Raise minimum wage to $7.25, try living on that. A living wage is over $21 an hour in order to keep from accruing debt. There have been no real outstanding acheivements in legislation for a very long time and I for one think it is high time for them to do something for the people they are leading. Why are there homeless people? Why are there hungry children? Why is there no medical care for 50% of the population?
I mean for real, they need to start working on thier jobs, and stop playing office polotics.

I have been wondering, if all of God's children who believe in living out their faith would join in prayer, how could the world stand against us? It would have to convert. God could just be waiting for us to begin our part in the process. I am sure most already are, but let us do it as one people. We are brothers and sisters, we should not concern ourselves with method of prayer, but the goal, which is peace in OUR world. God Bless.

I was shot several times by members of three different police departments on four different occassions that I can recall. Almost each time I was doped with date rape drugs to induce amnesia and on the one time I wasn't I had been shot through the head from the rear while in handcuffs (behind the back while on the ground with a hand in my hair and a knee on my back). That time I simply went home after wandering into the emergency room, where I was told by the nurse I'd been reported shot through the head and killed; of course I thought I'd had a seizure.

Pelosi made a big deal about getting 6 things done in the first 100 hours the House is in session. And She's gotten 5 done already and the 6th looks likely.

But none of them have gotten through the Senate. If they die in the Senate or are gutted to impotence what will Nancy and company really accomplished?

If you anyone, the animals lovers like me have read my old post question as previously, and www. petitionsite .com of " don't strip ESA Protection from Wolves" Now the officals are starting the ariel gunning in Alaska, will soon follow into WY and Idaho. If you have not seen the letter of defender of wildlife. They sent me this. Please paste and copy this to pass around to the ones who are the animals lovers. I don't need the answers from you on this one.
Hope you all have a nice day.

Dear Julie,

Another season of aerial gunning is underway in Alaska. And this year could be the bloodiest in decades, with the state seeking to eliminate as many 664 wolves through aerial gunning and other means in areas slated for aerial control.

Last year, more than 150 wolves were killed, shot down by gunners using low-flying aircraft. At least ten wolves have already been killed this year.

You can help put an end to this brutal practice. Please donate now to support our Campaign to Save America’s Wolves.

Because they are such social animals, each wolf’s death can be damaging to its pack’s ability to hunt and survive. Yet gunners can indiscriminately kill any wolf, including pack leaders and pregnant mothers.

Allowing private individuals, rather than state personnel, to conduct aerial gunning also leads to increased wounding and suffering.

We need your support to end aerial gunning. Please make a donation online now to support our work in Alaska, on Capitol Hill and in the courts to help save wolves.

Defenders of Wildlife opposes aerial gunning, and we’re not alone.

Alaskans have twice voted to restrict the use of aircraft to shoot wolves. Not surprisingly, many wildlife supporters and hunters alike consider airborne wolf killing to be unsporting and cruel.

Scientists and conservationists worry that the programs’ goals of artificially inflating game numbers threatens not only Alaska wolves but also the long-term health of local ecosystems that wolves help keep in balance.

Please help us end aerial gunning in Alaska.

Our emergency action to save wolves in the Northern Rockies and our ongoing work in Alaska have stretched our time, resources and funds to the breaking point. That’s why we need your help to raise $25,000 by January 31st to support these and other efforts to save wolves…
Grassroots mobilization. In Alaska and around the world, we’ve mobilized hundreds of thousands of dedicated activists in opposition to aerial gunning. Working with local conservationists and sportsmen, along with our sister organization, Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, we’ll also do everything in our power to support an upcoming state-based ballot initiative to restrict aerial gunning.
Legal advocacy. Along with our ongoing litigation to end Alaska’s aerial gunning programs, Defenders is seeking a preliminary injunction that would ground the aerial gunners until the courts hear our case.
Federal lobbying. The new Congress offers a remarkable opportunity to finally spur federal action to end aerial gunning in Alaska. We’re already working to introduce and pass legislation to strengthen and clarify the Federal Airborne Hunting Act, the law passed in the 1960s to prevent programs like Alaska’s.
Wolves are dying right now. Please make the most generous donation you can to support this important campaign and help us save wolves.

For the Wild Ones,

Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife

One day you critisize him for reading to kids while the 9/11 attacks happen.

One day you accuse him of not being able to read, because his book was upside down after he was informed about the attacks. (so he must have been thinking, not reading).

You say he took his time in the classroom, but rushed into war.

You say he lied about wmd, but democrats were misinformed. And then you try to defend this by saying, he was responsible for the democrats being misinformed, even though they had those opinions before he was in office.

This type of list can go on forever.

could you try to be a bit more consistant, or do you just WANT something to critisize him for. Are you that much of an immature child, that critisizing him for being republican is more important than what is going on in this world?

i know for now we "need" eachothers crap, but why cant be all develope our own means of everything, so we never need to rely on anybody. Why we kill all these people to defend another country is beyond me. If you live in america you should stay and defend here. If you live in china you should stay and defend there. Why is it that all our countries have to get involved with one another SURE it would be just wonderful if we could all get along but its never going to happen. it never has, and 99% chance it never will. If the president cared so much about iraq and wanted to change peoples lives in other countries, while our people go to ****, then why didnt he run for office in some other country. if people in ethiopia are starving, stop breeding and raising kids into a starving world, it would then eventually cease to exist with no breeding. It just pisses me off that we still dont have running water everywhere in america but oh we need to go and worry about iraqis

Liberals look at thinks in one view. They never look at the big picture. For many things they say what was done was racist and unfair but they never look at what could have happened if this had not been done. One example is Mccarthyism. All liberals see it as unfair but they do not understand how communism destroyed Russia and China. Please people give me your opinion. None of this liberals aren't narrow minded stuff!
