Anyone. What must I do to qualify for Social Security under my deceased husbands Social Security?

I am a disabeled widow of a disabeled Vietnam Veteran who was also disabeled and are diceased. How can I apply for his Social Security benefits? What are the necessary forms to apply for it?

As a disabled Widow you are now entitled to check from VA. You must go the nearest Veteran Administration or a local DAV Chapter to help you and they're there for you. You can also call 1-800 827-1000

Now as for Social Security, I do not know your age so here;s the thing. If you are disabled under Social Security already then you all you need to do is contact your Social Security office and fill out the necessary paper work. If your arenot disabled under Social Security, and your at the age which I think is62 or better, you can draw on your Husbands Social Security as long as you meet the age requirement.
All of this can be accomplished by going to your Social Security office.

If your not already receiving Social Security, Call your local office and get an appointment. When you have your appointment be sure and tell them your husband is deceased. They will check out which lets you receive more money....either your social security number or your husbands and then you'll be signed up under that one.

Go to your local SS office and apply. I believe all you would need is proof of who you are, marriage license, and proof of him being in the military? Don't know for sure, but I'm sure they can answer all your questions. Good luck.
