It always puzzles me a lot. How do people become US senators, congressmen, and governors? Do they all have to go to Yale/Harvard law schools? How do they get their political parties to nominate them for these positions? How to get involved so that people can be nominated for these positions? Do people need to be filthy rich in order to run for these positions?

Why is Chuck Hagel calling for diplomacy? With whom? Now if there were a country called "Terrorist", then maybe we could make them an offer they couldn't refuse but the terrorists are not a country and each has his own agenda to kill the infidels. Negotiating with one, will not appease another. Are we playing politics here? Elections coming and now those who were for it are now against it.

Describe an activity or hobby that you enjoy doing in your free time, and explain why you like that activity so much.

On my free time I like to go out to play golf because I enjoy the sport and love it. It helps me out on my exercise and I'm out doing something

He has said had he not known what he does ( does he know anyhing) he would not support Iraq and he has also said Iraq is another Vietnam. Vietnam was not a good thing. Is he grasping for a foothold on the slippery slope?

If you're going to criticize his Iraq war strategy, then please let me hear yours. If you don't have one, then keep your mouth shut. And don't say pull out of Iraq, because that would be the biggest and stupidest mistake ever made.
If we pulled out, Iraq would go back to where it was before we wen't it, which was crap, and the 3,000+ Americans that died in Iraq would mean nothing. The Iraqi government can't even control, it's own country, without help.

Not all Presidents are perfect, Presidents are humans, they aren't robots. If you feel what is being done is stupid, then run for office and stop complaining.

Also, people who criticize and insult our troops, you're pathetic. Try walking in their shoes for a day.

I would like to understand how it is that most people believe that government officials who lie and clearly violate public trust should not be held accountable for their unlawful actions just like the rest of us? I do not get it. Think about 9/11 for example. If you or I were responsible for reporting that event, would we be able to withhold video evidence as the government is doing RIGHT NOW? The short and simple answer to this question is NO. We would be forced to show the evidence or we would be imprisoned until we did and even afterwards.

So why then does the Bush Administration and all other governmental offices get to withhold evidence and therefore not be held accountable? What makes them so special if this is indeed a free country with elected officials by the people and for the people?

Does the logic evade you too?

I do not. I believe some jobs are not worth $5.25 an hour, much less $7.50 or whatever they are proposing. For example, landscapers should get a minimum of $7.50 an hour, but parking lot attendants that sit and watch TV, goof off and do nothing could profitably do the job for $3.00 an hour.

I think minimum wage requirements on employers is the death to small businesses and that makes the Democrats as anti-freedom as the Republicans have been. Think about it; if only the big corporations with billions of dollars can afford to pay the higher minimum wage, what is the obvious outcome in that scenario?

I hope the minimum wage increase is derailed. I know people with NO education to amount to anything who make excellent money. That leads me to believe the minimum wage increase only rewards slackers.

And Why ?

That's right, Bush did what his elitist boss thugs wanted all along, regardless of the outcome of Iraq. We are limited in our ability to move freely throughout the USA and the world now, more than ever. Our rights to freedom of speech have been compromised and all generations that follow will think that the limitations in freedom we over 40 years of age took for granted no longer exist. Bending over so the government can stick their gloved hand up the @$$es of anyone they choose is just a part of living now. Yes, Bush got for his elitist thug friends, exactly what they were after.

I sincerely hope that even if the Iraq war comes to an end that Bush is charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity. I believe he should be charged with treason or as a traitor or whatever you technical respondents will come back with as the correct terms. I hope to see all government officials who have helped to build the NEOCON FACISM prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Thoughts?

Think about this before you answer.

Economically, militarily, socially - can we really go it alone?

I don't see how.
