Democrats are your best bet. After all, Republicans invented the "war on terror"/war on Islam.
If that's not enough, consider that Republicans have said they "create their own" political "reality", and are thinking about bombing Iran rather than negotiating. And consider that just yesterday, Cheney said the Iraq war was a success!

Neither will.
Unless you are a millionaire, you are only a vote to both parties. Not even that once the electronic voting system supported by both parties is fully in place.
Both parties voted for the Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act.
These two pieces of legislation have removed all of your and my protections under the Bill of Rights.
Many Muslim Americans have been rounded up and interrogated without any evidence whatsoever that they were involved in terrorism. Neither party has expressed their outrage or stopped this obvious racial profiling.
Both parties have fed into an environment of fear, and both continue to feed this irrational fear to support their agendas.
Both parties have allowed, and will continue to fund an unprovoked invasion of a sovereign country.
Both parties have supported the use of the phrases "Radical Muslim" and "Islamic Terrorists", both of which are designed specifically to instill racial stereotyping and fear.
Neither Party, to date, has demanded to see the evidence that Osama Bin Laden was involved or responsible for 9/11.
Both parties accepted the 9/11 Commission despite obvious errors and omissions.
Both parties have permitted and even encouraged corruption as evidenced by the Abrahms, Foley and other recent scandals.
Both parties have allowed the Department of Defense to be reckless with Taxpayer's money, and, to my knowledge, have not even asked any questions about the 2 TRILLION dollars reported lost on Sept 10, 2001.
Both parties allow a system that requires all lawmakers to mortgage their future votes to fund their election bid. They sell their support for donations from corporations, and then spend the money by paying the same or other corporations for air time.
The parties are basically two sides of the same coin. Heads, the corporations win and Tails, You lose.

Neither party defends your rights. Your rights are guaranteed under the Constitution and those rights are defended by the fine men and women who serve in the United States Military. I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I am an independent and I choose to vote for the person rather than the party. If you just insist on being one or the other you need to examine the platform of both parties and decide which one better represents your views on the issues. You also need to understand that neither party is trying to take your rights from you. The statements to the contrary from both sides are just partisan arguments which are generally devoid of real truth or reality.

If you're intending to identify with a party, it may be wise to not do that until the prejudice against Muslims dies down. Although Democrats seem to be more tolerant of religious beliefs, there are too many from either party that seem all too willing to believe everything they hear or see on radio and TV. Case in point is the ongoing smear campaign directed towards Barak Obama and that's just because his name SOUNDS Muslim.

many top republican belong to a conservative group that has a manifesto that states that the world needs to be ridded of all muslims. That the onyl way you can del with them is to kill them all. Also republican have alot more ties to christianity which has a rich history of not getting along with islam. Democrats try to keep the church and the state split to a much greater extent. They tend to be more liberal which usually means more tolerant.
Republicans used to be united by the common belief that america needs less government and less laws. but modern republicans usually find an agreeance on such issues as pro life. anti stem cell. anti gay rights. and pro war.
democrats don't seem to have any uniting qualities they all agree on. they just say what ever they need to be elected. But they probably make more laws for the environment and schools and health care.
They are both bad though. But I can't imagine republicans being a better party for muslims.

I will bubba. You are an American right? Than anyone of us Americans will defend you, but from what dear? don't pay attention to the spewing out of all this venting in anger here, just watch out for the prejudice around you about being an American? Muslim is a religion and personally I agree with our founding Father Thomas Jefferson and to learn more about what he said and did you should go to www.history.com and you will be the most intelligent person about your rights ever. He did not disclose his religion and refused to because as I do believe as well, that is none of anyones business, my relationship with God is personal and not to be shared with anyone. Except my family and my fellow parishiners. God is sacred to me and mine and we only share that knowledge with true friends. Otherwise it is no ones business, and that is why Jefferson said there will be a separation between church and state. For obvious reasons the two do not mix. Back in the days when the muslims invaded Jeruselum and the Christians as well and each was killing each other in the name of their religions that was horrific, and back when King John of England did that and Queen Elizabeth killed her cousin Mary Queen of Scots over religion and power and politics it was wrong and Jefferson said enough is enough I am a Christian and I won't kill in the name of God but with God and country I will give my oath to my country to do the right thing as a man and a statesman to govern my people with God in my heart and that is that. Do you see? So yes you have nothing to fear unless you impose your beliefs on others. There is no difference in politics about religion most politicians are atheists when they get in those positions and they then when things get tough they call for God? Hypocrites everywhere in the world. It is the same everywhere not just here. Look at all those places out there in the world that have killed in the name of God? I bet he is really angry about that. All of us are sinners and we all are guilty of not loving our fellow human being first and utmost next to God and ourselves and families we should love our fellow man for the grace of God he walks too. May God Bless you and yours

Neither party. Both parties care only about money, power, and influence (albeit using different methods.) If you want rights, you have to fight for them -- e.g., activism, community organizations, establishing voting power (in the hopes of a quality candidate). I laugh at the bickering between extreme liberals and extreme conservatives, because both (extreme) sides are full of crap. Good luck.

The local police will defend your rights no matter who's in office.
Vote with your conscience and for whomever represents your values. You shouldn't have to worry about what party they belong to.
(Most Americans are independant.)
