We tried isolationism in the 1930's. It led to WW II. The world is more dangerous now than it was 70 years ago.
It would be a HUGE blunder to try that now.

No. And why would we want to? Because we're afraid that some country might become better than us- economically, militarily, or socially? Wall the World out, & you wall yourself IN. That's a prison...- and time passes prisoners by... Can we really afford to close the door on the Future? Yes, -it's messy. Sure it can be unnerving. Of course there will be threats... -ALL countries face these challenges. But turning away from them is NOT the key to success.

Not now but if we are in a War Yes. We the People then will keep a very low profile and that is what All the Enemies of the State want to do to us so we will be of no threat after they take over and reshape our government into socialistic society. We the People are being blamed by the whole world because of a handful of aggressors. And yet the government is blaming us as well like we are the ones in charge right? yeah sure, blah blah. The politicians are at fault if we let a few get out of hand. They were bought off or it was detrimental to our government or something like that. But see all and all, right now we are being played like Lotto, and that is the point. We need the outside world to deliver the We the People message and erase the opinions of the people who are judging us all by our politicians. And we need a strong leader to do that. We need some real common people in there not high profiled, not ones with religious or race issues, but a real honest to God down to earth blue collar worker, an Abe Lincoln, a Thomas Jefferson or even Ben Franklin? Honesty is the best policy. We are not all rich we are mostly common with one car if that, hard working and I am tired of hearing how all these mexicans need to be here to work our jobs? What jobs?
If we did not work for a living as waitresses, waiters, factories, where are the taxes coming from? See no where because they don't pay taxes. And as an American hard working person we need not bring down our borders but we need to communicate with them and help them structure their own worlds if they wish?
But it will cost them because we the people are tired of buying friends, as they say,"you are with us ? Or agin us ? If they don't pay Embargo on as simple as that. Amen

if they had thought about resources and things we dont import before we got this far perhaps i would say yes but the chances are gonna be rough but all in all i think if we have oil and skills put to work and the right person to have on board such as an economist and environmentalist we can do it. we could be fair rough until we catch up .. we can use alternative sources of enrgy and have and creat more jobs for people when we pull our own weight. usa did ok before the states became states as any beginning era did. i mean usa is the one responsible fro computer technology bill gates so we have a lot more hiding in the closet of who can do what and create what for wot ever reason. its just scary as the leader here hasnt put those resources skills to work for usa by usa

---socially sure. What do we really get socially from others??
We do get alot of carping ,jealousy, envy and suggestions as to how we should live and give
---economically probably IF we cut AID and economic packages to foreign nations,//demand cash up front to mount a rescue/aid mission when a disaster strikes and the affected country cant rescue their own population. Withdraw from the UN and do not fund or sign ANYTHING they propose/demand.
---Military probably but the death & destructionwould not leave us or our homeland untouched.
The US would morn the loss of life from starvation, disease, and eradication of the unfortunates deemed by aggressibve leaders and their land grads on other nations, BUT perhaps the other nations in the world might actually wake-up and recognize that their status as a soverign nation is tentative if faced with direct confrontation or internal chaos as terrorists wreak havok..(paris riots/concern that the unemployed emigrants demanded "rights" and were willing to burn/destroy to make their point or spain that backed away because terrorists attacked and threatened more death and destruction)
For the US the greatest danger is our dis-functional CONGRESS that no longer honor their oath to serve and protect. legislators are obsessed with their political power games; They seek only to retain their perk-filled job and increase their personal power and political party's power. This self serving behavior and constant focus on designing the next strategy that will produce more support from the heavy walleted corporations, individuals, organizations, activists, etc is deceit and fraud that is "excused " by many including the media/press as "politics" Congress has forgotten who and what they work for. More importantly they have forgotten that "vigilance is the price of freedom".

The United States is not on the Moon, and as part of the world plus being the sole superpower has the responsability to be involved in all the affairs of this planet...we have no choice!
A lot of Americans "think" small country, you don't want to worry about the world and you only want to do your own thing? Fine, move to Haiti for example....lol!

NO, Uncle Sam needs China, and China needs Uncle Sam. Sudan is a craphole killing its very own people why make investments right into a goverment pastime in ethic liqidation. particularly, make investments into the undesirable villagers via microloans. i does no longer placed money into Sudan to furnish a thug a sparkling Mercades together as thier usa needs textbooks, water, and worry-loose argitculutral education

The world cannot afford to isolate itself from the US. Frankly, I don't give a damn about the rest of the world anymore. I say let them arm themselves and repeat their worthless history while we take the money we save and buy ourselves some cold beers.

When you think about it what do we need from the rest of the world anyway? We need oil right now but in the future maybe not so much. Why can't America buy and sell America and just tell everybody else to go to....you know.
