Yes there is remedy. The remedy is that instead of blaming we should come forward and take part in active politics and put our best effort to make a government which will provide the public a job which will provide them food, clothes & home. When a person is having all these basic nessecities then he wont do corruption. Now you must be thinking why i am talking of reducing corruption in public and not in politicians.Politicians are from the public only and one more thing we cant do anything by just talking. We will have to come forward and do work so that we can form our government.Forming government is the necessity because otherwise our voice will be dipressed and we cant do anything accept of talking.

Greetings!

I would say in my opinion that perhaps it is time to limit the income of our elected officials. For starters, it should be a Federal Offense to accept "gifts" of any kind from any organization for advocating a particular cause. It should also be illegal to accept private donations over $5,000 whilst in office.

Also, another good remedy might be to temporarily freeze a politician's stock account while they are in office. Well, not stocks per se. I'm talking more along the lines of VP **** Cheney and the whole Halliburton-in-Iraq thing.

Term limits might be a good idea as well, currently we have some people in Congress (Democratic Senator Kennedy and Republican Representative Dreier come to mind) who have "served" for 20+ years.

Also, in "my government," lobbyists would be a thing of the past. Why we as Americans tolerate that level of blatant corruption is beyond me.

Perhaps my ideas won't limit greed, however, but at least it would be a start to a little more honesty and sincerity with our elected leaders.

All my best,

-S-

no because at least in the US the general populace is to lazy and ignorant to bother to research what these evil jerks do when they are in office and continue to reelect them.

I find it amazing that far more members of the US congress belong in jail or are actively being investigated for crimes than the normal population and we still vote for them.

I just wish people would stop supporting political parties the way we root for sports teams, it's not a game, it's a serious civic responsibility.

No, not unless they undergo some sort of brain scan and we know exactly what is going on inside their minds. But even then they would pay off the technician to change the test results.

Watch them very closely and don't vote for the corrupt ones.
Don't listen to what they say, watch what they do. Their words will pull you off target.
Watch them very closely. They're like slight of hand magicians. They'll have you looking at one hand while they're picking your pocket with the other. They can talk to you, saying one thing out of one side of their mouth and talk to someone else, saying something completely different of of the other side of their mouth.
