Instead of saying, "I pledge allegiance to the flag ...", should it instead perhaps say, "I pledge allegiance to the people ..."?

Nowadays, a lot of folks seemed pretty confused and seem to mistakenly believe they need to pledge allegiance to the White House and not their communities ...

Would it not make more sense for Americans to pledge to stick together and stand up for one another than to pit Americans against one another over silly and often corrupt international politics?

destroyed the World Trade Center.I saw the news casts that day,and unless the Government has figured out a way to make airplanes disappear in midair,I believe the airplanes were flown into the buildings.I just don't understand how all of these people can't see the facts of that terrible day for themselves.Just watch the news footage from that day.

I mean if people have to pay taxes for free schools (which i am totally for) they should be able to turn that so they can get a free or cheaper education at the school of there pick (a.k.a private school). is this because the politicans want control of our education by teaching people that gayness is good and abortion is good and christans are bad????

I know that people want to believe elected officials really have the nations best interset at heart!
That is what they want you to believe!
But facts are facts! Learn the truth for yourself!
I realize many choose to keep believing in our President and his administration and their agenda.......
Hitler was also good at fanning National Fervor!
Todays administration looks to rule not govern!
The truth is out there!
The reason people like Alex Jones MUST use the internet instead of NBC, CBS, ABC or the like is the powers that be won't allow it!
Our countries future is at stake!

Or, if you could be Bill Clinton for a day, would you eliminate the lovely Mrs. Clinton?

Or, if you could be Chelsea Clinton for a day, would you eliminate Bill and Hillary and then hire Leslie Abramson to lead your defense team?

He should have been prime Minister. But, as we slowly are drawn into a 'civil war' against Islam....could he have prevented this through his intellect and foresight?. A true Brit was prevented from taking power and look what we've got.!!

All this talk about a living wage, how much exactly for one person would that be. Seems people think minimum wage workers arent making it - fine ill accpet that one, but teachers and police officers? I havent known any POOR ones. So in your opinion what exactly is a living wage, in annual salary numbers?

I want to see how close I am to the poor house by you people's opinions.

How much should a single person be making to "survive" in your standards?

The margin between rich and poor is growing wider each decade. Crime is increasing on both the poor and rich sides, but the poor get caught more often, and white collar crime has a blind eye turned to it. I've personally seen kids living in poverty lashing out more often at kids with money at school. Do you think a class war may be on the way in America? If so, give your reasons why you think so.

The EPA told them that the dust from the towers wouldn't harm them when in fact levels of toxic chemicals were higher than scientists had ever seen in regard to the clean up effort!
Now all this time later the government is cutting funding to the men and women who have become ill from the poison!
Is this American?
Or even ethical?

George Bush's IRAQ must be a democracy and a model of Peace and Justice!

Until those goals are FULLY realised...US troops should stay...no excuses , no whining.

The USA wants to "WIN".....so stay and suffer and die....until you "WIN"......but remember who started this mess.

The Republican Party, Christian Conservatives, and the wonderful people that were foolish enough to vote for GW Bush.

Stay in IRAQ...winners.....stay there till you "WIN".....it might take a while.....I figure maybe 150 years.

My the lord have mercy upon your souls

Now we are not supposed to call democrat party "democrat" instead we are supposed to call them "democratic".

If you cannot be proud of who you are, we are you that way?

The name does nothing but dress up the ideas espoused, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Why are liberal Democrats so uber-sensitive.

What will the new words be for progressive and democratic when they are decided to be out of date?

It's silly, you watch Fox news and the biased news reports WAAY too much if you hate liberals that intensely. It's mostly Bush supporters trying to find a scapegoat for the masses to hate after all.

I bet all these anti-war demonstrators would not have spoken out 5 years ago when we were attacked, would they? Like Hillary Clinton who says she wishes she would not have voted for the war. I bet the people who lost loved ones appreciate our President and his tough stand on Terrorism.

Vietnam: 58000 young American lives --- Irak: 3000 young American lives --- In 1962, De Gaulle advised Kennedy: "For you, intervention in this region will be an entanglement without end. From the moment that nations have awakened, no foreign authority, whatever it means, has any chance of imposing itself on them. You are going to see this. The ideology that you invoke will not change anything. Even more, the masses will confuse it with your will to exert power. This is why the more you commit yourself there against communism, the more the Communists will appear to be champions of national independence, the more they will receive help and, first of all, that which comes from desperation. I predict to you that you will, step by step, become sucked into a bottomless military and political quagmire despite the losses and expenditure that you may squander." . 40 years after, Chirac told Bush not to go.
