Both Senator McCain and Senator Clinton amongst many others are running for president. As elected officials there are suppose to be voting on bills, etc. Obviously if they are compaigning they will miss or be a no vote on some of the bills. Should they resign from their positions in order to have people in congress actually be a voice from the state these senators belong too??
Why or Why not?

...was detained and imprisoned indefintely without legal representation for a crime they didn't commit? Except, unlike the A-Team, you don't escape and drive around in a kick-@ss conversion van with Mr. T protecting the innocent with an unlimited supply of machine guns and ammo... you're simply tortured until you attempt suicide in your 10'x10' jail cell.

As soon as iraq got difficult...you started whining and now your quiting...so french like.

Too lazy to think of a new plan? Yes, so a few plans failed big deal...no real reason to quit...

If we leave...it gives Iran a chance to become a super power in the M.E....and it will embolden te extremists because the wont be afraid of america anymore...why would they be? They made us leave.

If we are to leave Iraq i see a lot of attacks against america...have fun.

When I was younger and coming out of hs I was in a very liberal area and registered with the democratic party and voted for Al Gore. After going to college and really seeing both sides of things I've switched sides and voted for Bush in 04. I really see myself as with the GOP now, but I'm still registered as a democrat. How do I change this so that I can vote in the GOP primaries? Also, being in a very liberal area, would it be more to my advantage to stay registered as a democrat and just vote GOP? My father is a businessman and works with a lot of politicians and when I was younger this is what he told me he did. If anyone else has had these thoughts or went through this process I'd like to hear about it.

I am only 27 and so am curious how older people feel about his speaking/inability, as compared to our long legacy of amazing orators...however, in watching newsclips of Presidents Carter, JFK, and of course watching Bill Clinton, as well as reading accounts of Lincoln, etc., it seems there is a huge difference...I was wondering what historians will think. Thanks!

I defy anyone in this forum - and I mean anyone - to post solid, proven facts, not spin-doctored fairy tales or some drivel from a conspiracy theory web site, of ANY criminal act as defined by law that President Bush, Vice President Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Rumsfield, or Secretary of State Rice have committed in the past six years. Be prepared to cite chapter and verse as to what they allegedly did. If you're going to say that someone committed war crimes, then you'd better be able to state both specifics - DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF THE OFFENSE - and the specific passage in a legal, binding document that specifically says what they did was a war crime. If you're going to say that they violated the US Constitution, be prepared to cite both specifics - DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF THE OFFENSE - and the exact verbage and/or requirement and/or amendment that they violated.

Rather than start from ground zero, start by affording everyone full coverage. From there, eliminate those already insured and make it a law that employers can not drop coverage. Give employers who already provide coverage extra incentives to maintain current coverage. Eliminate those with incomes, say above $100k. Reduce coverage on those over 65 who are covered by Medicare. Eliminate those already covered by state plans. Provide more clinics nationwide to treat non-life threatening cases. Establish more groups of people lowering the premiums on the coverage. Have the middle class wage earners contribute thru payroll deduction a pre-determined contribution. Negotiate with providers, doctors, hospitals, etc., care for the unemployed, homeless, those with incomes within the poverty level. This would have to be a federal program offering each state the opportunity to join.Insurance companies would be like a FNMA, secondary market buying into the federal program thereby shifting the burde

They seem to be at war with the people from Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan. They enact laws to shake down tourists and travellers in their state. I wouldn't advise travel in the state without a wisconsin plate on your car. They are waiting for you and you will be fined heavily for small offences. You car will be confiscated
if you have a fish in the car without the expensive fishing license which is more for people out of state. Police now stop cars and search them they say for weapens and they also take swabs from
the inside of peoples mouths who they suspect of having a good time. In short they are trying a concerted effort to scare all the "foreigner" out of their state.
