I often hear republicans say "I think good fences make good neighbors"

Republicans, stopping immigration destroys what this nation was built upon. America is a country of immigrants. Maybe you should try to learn their language, not just bash them for not knowing english.

So, if we stopped illegal immigration, who would build the fence for us? For that matter, who would build your decks, fuel your car with saudi oil, etc?

Do you think they will plan another 9/11 type event so they can enact martial law and suspend the elections?

This administration has concentrated more power in the Executive branch than any other President, including Nixon. They've lied and cheated their way into war...and out of trouble. They've undermined Congressional oversight, checks and balances, and the separation of powers.

Why else would they be tearing down our democracy and setting precedents that open us up to fascism....unless they plan on staying in power indefinitely?

I will not bash the republican part in this post. Please read this carefully.

My Sister lives in New York city. She was scraping by with her husband. She had 3 children, and was generally happy with life. She worked at minimum wage all day. One day, her husband left her. She has not found him. She now works 16 hour days at a bar. She tries to pay rent, and feed her children. She is forced to use welfare from the government. She would be on the street without it.

Republicans claim that people living off of welfare are lazy and sit at home all day. This is not true. Most people on welfare work very hard. Republicans say that they are pro life, but obviously do not care for someone in my sister's position. I can not understand the mess of hypocritical statements.

It seems that republicans do not understand the life of a poor person, and how abortions are sometimes neccesary.

Now, please tell me your thoughts on this issue. Why do you call someone on welfare lazy?

Don't get me wrong, Bush is using this to scare us to give up our freedoms and privacy's. However that doesn't mean he nor our government in general had anything to do with 9/11.

Are these family members on to something? Or are they being misled? Maybe this article can shed some light. http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/july2006/080706governmentcomplicit.htm

Nicole Kidman released a statement signed by many others such as Sylvester Stallone, Michael Douglas (hardly conservative!) and Bruce Willis condemning the acts of Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations. Do you agree?
About dang time. I have a new respect for them.

first of all I know I'm crazy. just be glad I don't leave near you or do I. basically we scare them worse than they scare us. here are the steps
1. If Iran wants to be nuclear we'll make them glow in the dark
2. as for alkiida we should tell them that there coffins we'll be lined with pig skins so when they die they'll be infidels.
3. as for the rest of the terrorist we come up with stuff as we go

we are a whinny nation that doesn't get up in arms unless where attacked. doesn't pray unless theres we have something terrible on the twelve O'Clock news and we won't even defend ourselves but we will defend the terrorist. oh boy does he have more rights than I do. so maybe we do deserve to die in agony. at least the world won't have to here the whining. what do you think.

those in power to govern. Bush is a graduate of Harvard(Harvaaaard) and Yale(so was William F. Buckley), but he downplays his educational pedigree. Why? Because the majority of his supporters are from working class backgrounds(the rich who support him of course all went(most) to well endowed institutions) He is a blue blood of the first order(Connecticut) who went to an expensive prep school(cheerleader) and now relegates education to a secondary priority, if that. The more people know the more they question. It is easier to rein in the less educated. They will buy any into bromide or popular patriotic slogan.

I recently found out that I had termites. My first thought was to call an exterminator and get the house tented. My neighbor then told me that not all the termites were bad, and that I should only target the ones that were eating my house, because it would be cruel to kill the innocent termites. Now more of my neighbors are getting involved, some are standing by my decision while others are protesting that all termites have the right to live no matter if they are destroying my house or not. This whole time, my house continues to be devoured by termites. Since I don't want anybody to hate me, I have decided to find out what the rest of the world thinks, because I rather have my home destroyed than have people hate me. What do you think?

I was thinking about this recently because us liberals are willing to do self-anaylsis. We believe that enhances us rather than hurts us.

I am kind of anti-wealth. I know that I could never be a mega rich person because I would end up giving too much money to others; therefore, I judge the mega rich as greedy.

And no it is not a communist/socialist liberal thing because I actually believe FDR's combination of capitalism and socialism works best.

I guess my question is: what do you think molds someone's opinion or belief system in one direction versus another?.. environment, experience, education or lack of either?
