Does the phrase "time of war" mean anything to you? We were at war with Japan, remember? We warned the Japanese beforehand. Granted, the murder of thousands of people under any circumstances is horrendous. War=Bad, Peace=Good. I dodged the draft in the late sixties because I didn't believe my country had the right to be messing with the affairs of Vietnam. (here comes the right wingers, duck!). But I believe I would have had no problem going to war during WWII. Picking and choosing which war is "okay" and which is not "okay" is a whole other debate.
Point is. What happened on 9/11/01 doesn't compare to Hiroshima/Nagasaki.
The USA is guilty of many atrocities as are other countries. We have no monopoly on that.
What happened on 9/11/01 was atrocious (root word of "atrocity") and what happened in 1945 was also. History is filled with them.
But to mock a peoples grief and to minimize these horrible acts is LOATHSOME!
This questions author is loathsome and needs to examine his/her/its motives. It's one thing to ask a question that raises serious debate, but quite another to raise a question to be hurtful and foolish at the same time. Don't cry for me uglyirish. Cry for your own.

The citizens cry while the governments rejoice.

Pearl harbor, our government let it happen, they knew. What better reason to go to war? War makes money. Money makes people happy.

You are right the U.S. Government has done a lot of screwed up things to other countries. But the American people don't really get that in the news. We hear about it, but only passing puffs of news.

It's reverse propaganda. What we don't know, we won't be able to use against our government.

Pretty much all the governments in the world are working together to screw over the citizens of the world. They care about money, they care about power. They don't care about liberty for the masses, freedom, or life.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The majority of the world does not want war. They don't want to kill or destroy. Why are we at war? The majority of the countries citizens would rather not be at war. They back their government, but the government ALWAYS lies to the country. It's the first rule of war.

War is based on deception. War takes from the poor, from the masses and gives to the rich, to the few.

War is the opposite of robin hood.

Liberty is Robin hood.

With Liberty and Justice for all.

Without liberty there is no justice. Without justice, liberty is dangerous.

Essentially all the people of every country in the world need to band together and fix the corruption that our governments have been harboring for so long.

Life is more important than money.

Liberty is more important than safety.

Freedom is more important than threats.

Yes, I agree that what the U.S. did to Japan was a serious act of terrorism and was uncalled for Japan never targeted whole f****** citys with woman and families the brave japanese fighters bombed only enemy military targets. While we the U.S. and our cowardly president just took the wrong way out and dropped the bombs on more then just military targets we targeted whole cities as a result more innocents were killed then japanese troops were killed in the atomic bombings. And as an american im very unproud and ashamed that one of our presidents did such an act of genicide. And as for the trade center lots of innocent people were also killed and as a result of that we go to war and more of our people died. The U.S. government is occupied by zionists and so is the media and it's one of our biggest problems we will face in the future as more americans die for israel. And for all those brave hezbollah troops im glad they are stand up to those israeli zionist thugs targeting anything but the hezbollah freedom fighters like woman and children. The seeds have already been planted for more so-called terrorism ,i call it revenge. For here in the U.S. since we helped israel by sending them tanks, jets, bombs. They will keep on targeting us as long as we support israel thats the bottom line once that shiny new so-called freedom tower buildings goes up and is finished in 2011. It will still be the number one target for the so-called terrorists,in my view freedom fighters.

couldn't agree more. they call it terrorism and that makes it bad, call it war and that makes it OK. The bombing of Japan was the worlds greatest act of terrorism, it was terrorism because it wasn't one army fighting another army, it was killing innocent civilians to instill terror into the Japanese government, "if you don't do what we say we will kill even more innocent people"; that's terrorism.
Who attacked who first is irrelevant. Given that 99% of the population wouldn't believe the earth was round, don't hold your breath for intelligent replies, ignorance is as widespread today as it was back then as now we live in the me generation where only me counts and what happens to me and how bad me feels.
You were not saying that it was OK to bomb the towers as so many seem to have twisted your words to mean but that why is the US making out that 911 is somehow different to any other act of hostility against civilians when its the one doing the hostility? Why is it that the US cries that they were badly done by but all their acts of aggression are always justified "they hit first waaa" If you are not going to accept it then don't dish it out.
Targeting civilians to instill terror is terrorism, as was the case with Hiroshima and any justifications for that are just as delusional and wrong as the terrorists that attacked you, so suck it up. People in glass houses....
By all means morn and see it as terrible, just dont be hyporcitical and say you are any different or any better.

Uh...they blew up their own Towers, as in, 9/11 was an inside job. Notice how much the world has changed in the last five years? The war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, no baby food allowed on planes? That's why 9/11 happened...mission accomplished.

The problem with your logic is that we had formally declared war on the Japanese. No country formally declared war on us. Also, there was only one military institution attacked and the casualties there were minimal by way of comparison. I don't think a country that is saddened by the loss of their people is overreacting. I think that they are showing that they care about the fates of their fellow countrymen. I have also been saddened by many other tragedies in the world and still think that they are wrong. In fact, it makes me sick the things people are capable of doing to one another. So, if your calloused view of the world doesn't allow you to grieve for all of those lost in tragedy, warfare and just plain cruelty, then you are sadder than most. If that is true, then you have lost the one thing that can save us all, humanity.

I think that your country would be pissed too if thousands of lives were lost and a major part of your economy collasped. As for the Japanese, they had to be stopped and germany was goign to do the same to us.
