If you consider Israel's current action against Lebanon justified, tell me, would you have supported the United Kingdom if it had bombed Irish communities every time the provisional IRA killed British soldiers or bombed civilian targets (shopping centres etc...) on the UK mainland?

If not, why not? What's the difference?

I know, it the historical/moral/religious home, but wouldn't the world better off without an Israel in the middle east ? I'm in Canada, I like jewish people - give them all of Saskatchewan or Nova Scotia, perhaps Quebec ? It would do wonders for our economy AND for world peace.
I know it's a VERY simplistic solution, but...

Im not well educated on the subject, but I just dont understand why, from a 3rd party perspective, it seems like anytime Israel wants something, it gets it. And when they want war, they are not repremanded for it.

... be the supreme ruler of America. He should be appointed life tenure. The electoral college clearly doesnt work, or we would have an unqualified person in office. It is obvious that God intervened long long ago and created the electoral college to get Bush into office. Now, it can be used against Bush, and should be eliminated. Thas why I say we have Bush appointed for life, and all dissenters should be sent to Guantanamo Bay with the rest of the scum.

God created all man equal and no one is supposed to judge you but god.doesn't his decision collide with the first ammendment law at some point. also in matters of the heart love has no gender. wouldn't it be bad if he woke up straddling the fence on day and have to re-access life because of his choices earlier in life.

Honestly, people, have you not heard of popular vs. electoral vote counts? George Bush did not create the US presidential voting system.

"The candidate with the most electoral votes in a US Presidential election shall be declared the winner."

Maybe the obvious, "because jewish companies and organizations wield alot of power in the U.S." is that all? do we really believe the are the chosen people of the old testament. it puzzles me that the fundamentalist christian right seem to support them to such a degree when Jesus died to expand good new to gentiles and all people. Is it because we feel bad about the holocaust? no other population (black american slavery, bosnia, sudan) generates this type of long ranging support despite suffering terrible wrongs. this is an actual question - i am not trying to dispense a viewpoint. It just seems like sometimes israel is the spoiled rich kid whose parents back them up no matter what they do - and they know it so they push the limits of good behavior knowing that daddy will get them out of trouble. what is it that creates the strong alliance between US and Israel.

What if you lived in a place, say texas, and Mexico started firing rockets at you. The sent mexican "insurgents" into texas to plot ways of killing ur fellow texans. Mexican men hid bombs under their sombreros and walked into shopping malls and blew up ur friends. A fat mexican drove a truck load of bad burritos into ur favorite mexican restraunt poisoning hundreds of ur amigos. What if mexico refused to even say texas exists, and promises to kill all texans and make the land mexico? What would you do?
