I don't believe it is enough reason at all, but I am looking for individual opinions here.

I don't think it is enough of a reason at all, especially since Israel is the aggressor in all of this. This matter is none of the United States' business.

Since Israel is funded by the US, does that give Hezbollah the right to confront the US?

This is their war. They started it, they need to finish it or be finished by it.

Not until Iran comes out into the open. Now is the perfect time to strike against Iran and any of their followers. Israel is probably the most powerful ally the U.S. could have in the world at the moment.

The only problem is that right now, Americans don't even have the stomach to handle the limited casualties in Iraq. How do you think they would feel if we went after Iran where the casualties would be much greater? Don't get me wrong, every soldier's death is a terrible thing. Look at it this way though, we lost more soldiers PER DAY in WWII.

Don't forget that we are succeeding in Iraq although we only hear about the negatives. It is sad that our Armed forces are dealing with enemies from two directions... The insurgents in Iraq and the Liberals here at home. I wonder if we could have cut the death toll of our soldiers in half if they only had our complete support here at home

Hezbollah is funded by more extremists other than Iran. Confront? The US has condemned the kidnapping of the two Israeli soldiers, this being directed to Lebanon. The US has an obligation to set policy and beliefs but confrontation with Iran doesn't even touch the terrorism that is part of the backlash against the "West".

Technically it could be considered a "causus bellum" but generally the larger allied power only comes into the conflict directly if it's ally asks for assistance. My guess is that Israel won't ask for help unless they begin losing (which they won't) and even then, they probably won't ask for help. Hezbollah might try to get Iran involved but they are in a bad spot with massive numbers of American troops to their east and west. It would be hard for Iran to give physical support to Hezbollah.

Iran is a threat to the whole world - the Iranian president believes that he can cause the messiah Muhammad to come earlier - yea there have been people in the world with religious beliefs but not armed with nuclear weapons - even the Saudis and Egypt are scared of him he's a raving lunatic and he has threatened US and any other democracy

No. That's the sort of thinking that lead to WWI. Remember how far from the US is that and US armed forces are already deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. More troops right in the middle? And the funding? No. IDF is perfectly capable of engage and destroy Sirian, Lebanese and Persian armies together.

No...And why do you say the Israel is the aggressor? Hamas and Hezballh have been attacking Israel for some time. Israel is just now responding to the attacks against them.

No, it doesn't. Unless Iran is actively participating in the fighting (as opposed to giving money to one of the groups), it is not acceptable to confront them.

The only action that should be taken in a situation like this is one that stops the fighting parties from doing so.

if the US goes into iran, it will lose and lose badly. fighting a war in afghanistan, iraq, and iran is suicide. and the US government knows that. now you ask if the US has the RIGHT, and i say no. because its easier to wipe out hezbollah in lebanon and syria than invading the countries that funds it.

It certainly would, if we hadn't blown all global credibility with Iraq. Now if we would like any allies in this fight, we have to play by the rules. Too many people got burned on the last one when no weapons surfaced.
