First off President Bush has given more money to stem cell research then any one before him. there was been only one thing the money could not be spent on was embryonic stem cell research. because embryonic stem cells are unstable and can not offer anything more then is offered in adult stem cells. it is funny how the media frames this debate by leaving one word out, Embryonic, it makes the President as uncaring. which is just untrue. here is evidence of adult stem cell research.

also the president has not banned embryonic stem cell research, but just no federal money can be used on it.

It blocks funding & is no more political than the 37 vetoes that Clinton had including a balanced budget, abolishing estate taxes, bankruptcy laws, veteran affairs increase, marriage tax relief, & my favorite, the partial-birth abortion ban bill - can't pull babies from womb & kill them - then abort - the last was over ridden by congress as was 2 others. Many citizens are opposed to paying for stem cell research the congress & the President are suppose to vote our way not the way of a special interest group including a medical special interest group. Stem cell research has proven no benefit so far, if it had private industry would be beating down the door to pay. "Pharmacy World" is very stong & has big money.

Why should more tax payer money be tossed at Stem Cell research? Stem Cell "research" has been going on for >10 years and hasn't come up with a single cure for anything! If you're so concerned about it you're more than welcome to donate money out of you're own pocket to companies conducting SC research.

It will block federal funding to research that is of questionable medical and moral value when adult stem cell research has been proven to be of great medical value and it does not offend anyone's moral/ethical code since it does not destroy life.

Yes, in fact, it will. The USA is already very very far behind in this research because someone dreamed up a "moral" which apparently supercedes finding cures for diseases.

Bush said "This bill would support the taking of innocent human life in the hope of finding medical benefits for others. It crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect."
I am in total agrement with the president on this!

No. We have a "culture of life" that must be upheld here in America. Otherwise the evildoers win.
