I rarely run across another person here, democrat or republican, that is aware that the Taliban offerred to hand over B.Laden BEFORE Bush invaded Afg.

The actual facts were that they made this offer with the stipulation that he be handed over to a nuetral country. They were concerned he would not be given a fair trial based on how upset we were with it being right after 911.

Bush said no then commenced to invade Afg. and as we all know, later Iraq.

Who else also knew this?

Corporate america gets a lot of flak for being Greedy, however, aren't we all greedy? (BTW, all of you people that aren't greedy, drop me a line and I'll tell you where to send me some money).

Governments: Governments keep increasing taxes so than they can get more money to spend.

Employees: Will jump ship (after months of training) and work for another company that offers them more money. Employee theft (aka "shrinkage" is a major expense of many retail businesses.

Consumers: Buy the product that gives us the most for the least amount of money.

Liberals: Want to give the poor all kinds of things, but don't want the users to pay for a penny of it. Let's let someone else write the check.

As a country we could feed the world. Even the poorest americans could contribute to this cause by cutting back a bit.

Aren't we all greedy to a point?

.....and isn't that what makes it all work (although not perfectly or idealy?)

We always hear that "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer"

Bill Gates being rich doesn't hurt anyone that's poor. The gap between them increases (like when Bill Gates is worth 100 Billion), but that doesn't hurt the poor.

It seems like the poor (we'll say poorest 10%) in America today have 2 bedrooms, cable tv, and enough to get by on. 100 years ago the poor might have had an entire family living in a small room. 200 years ago they very well may have starved to death.

I'd much rather be poor in America today than 100 or 200 years ago.

Is there something I'm missing???

If there are no weapons of mass destruction how are our troops dying? If we invaded Iraq for oil, why is gas so expensive and the oil companies profits so high? He gets blamed for Katrina but those idiots chose to stay instead of the MANDATORY EVACUATION. and then they shoot at the people trying to help them. And why does congress not get blamed for anything. The U.S.S. Cole and the first attack on the World Trade Center happened while Clinton was hanging out in Monicas mouth and he did nothing but ruin her dress. Since 9-11 what has happened here?.... Nothing except Bush bashing. See the plot to destroy Sears Tower that was broken? Will any of you idiots give Bush credit? I think not. Do you people realize how stupid you really sound? If Sears Tower was taken down, everyone of you bashers would have blamed Bush and it would sound like this..."If he wasn't so worried about oil in Iraq it wouldn't have happened" FLAKES!! You know what...it didn't happen.

Back in World War II this nation rallied together during a Depression. Whole industries converted to the war effort, CEO's took dollar-a-year salaries. People bought war bonds to pay for the war. Victory gardens were planted. Meat was rationed. Tobacco was rationed. Gas was rationed. Rubber was rationed. Metal was rationed. Kitchen grease was recycled. Homefront commandos patrolled our coast and heartland. Rosie the Riveter told working women "WE CAN DO IT!" Tuskegee Airman stuck a huge blow for civil rights. Taxes were raised.

Today, to those who still support the war in Iraq support means calling other Americans traitors and snarling "I PUT A STICKER ON THE BACK OF MY SUV! WHAT MORE CAN A MAN DO?"

Before I get branded a traitor myself--I donate blood. So there are soldiers out there who are alive because of my blood. That's far more than what 90%+ of this war's supporters will EVER do.

What the hell happened to this country?

I live in Small Ville Texas in a trailer park.I'm 22 and have 7 kids already. All from different men.I don’t believe in birthcontrol since that’s killing a baby. But I sho support US killing babies in Iraq.Never worked a day in my life.Your tax dollars feed them babies. My favorite saying is “Cow girl Up.”For the longest time I thought Texas was the only country in the world. Then I watched my hero president Bush (voted for him2 times) on TV talking ‘bout Iraq and I figures there is more countries in the world except for Texas.Well I fear those countries A LOT because I hear them terrorists are targeting Small Ville.I see them different color terror warnings on TV and when it’s orange I go hide in this small bomb shelter behind our trailer.I love president Bush.He reminds me of all my baby’s dadies. Especially my own daddy. All my men beat me up but I never leave em being the good moral person I am.I wish Bush could be our President for the next 10 yrs.He so smart.I sho gonna vote for him next time.Ya ll please be generous with them inults. It reminds me of living with my daddy

It's all we're hearing about...
Terrorists from Miami were trying to blow up the Sears Tower...
but it sounds like these guys were set up or like it was some kind of entrapment...

If they were really trying to commit an act of terrorism, then I'm glad they got caught...
But if they weren't then I'm ashamed of being from Florida.

Your thoughts?
