lover: I think I can anwer your question there, unless it's about the other Bush. The war on terror started when Bush became president, causing the US to invade Iraq later on. Maybe that's why some people don't like Bush, because they're blaming him for the war.

Mine is George Washington, because he helped freeing the colonies from the British, and Teddy Roosevelt, because he cares so much about nature.

John F. Kennedy - and before you get the wrong idea here, I am not a democrat. I like Kennedy for several reasons.
1) His handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis was masterful. He played a very real game of chicken, and made the other side flinch first. The world would be very different today had those missiles been placed so close to our shores. Plus the Russians would have believed we were weak, and quite possibly would have attacked us at some point.
2) Space Program - He really made us believe that all things were possible, and in doing so broadened all of our horizons.
3) He bedded Marilyn Monroe :)

I ask you, what's not to like!

BTW my second favorite was Ronald Reagan because he truly made me feel good about being an American.

Ummm Liz? Did you forget about the first World Trade Center bombing?

Beach Bum: I didn't like Clinton, and maybe that makes me one of those uneducated morons, but at least I can make my points without resorting to character assassination.

How can anyone forget Abraham Lincoln?

I liked Harry Truman. He remained awake for more than 30 hours in order to make the decsion to use the atomic bomb. He weighed the deaths against the lives saved in plans to invade Japan.
He reduced the National Debt in 1947 by $11.136 Billion, 1948 by $5.994 Billion.
No other president has done this. George Washington left a debt of $75,000.00, up ever since.
He lived modestly.

only uneducated morons don't see that Clinton was an amazing president? OH NO! I guess that I am forced into a dilemma not of my making!
I do not want to say billy (the commiter of fraud, murder, purgery, taker of illegal campaign monies from foreign criminals, rapist ) clithead,er Clinton but I also do not want some unknown internet users to think that I am an uneducated moron!

What to do? what to do?
well I will do this:
if I were to name my favorite for worst, most openly corrupt and immoral, MY FAV would be mrs clinton, I mean willie , well you know roger clinton's brother!
but as far as I can tell, the original founders would lead a revolution against this country as it stands, so I would choose all of the first 5 presidents!

It's a tough call, but it would be between Lincoln, Washington, and the Roosevelts.

I think anyone picking someone of the last thirty years or so is lacking historical perspective.

Anyone picking Bush...well, stop drinking the Kool-Aid is all I have to say.

My favorite has to be George Washington, here was a man who was entrusted originally with an army, when the peace was signed he voluntary resigned his commission as commander and chief and returned to private life. Many people thought he would use that army to control the new United States and declare himself King. When the presidency was formed all eyes were turned to him and he graciously accepted, when he only wanted to run for one term all parties agreed he needed to run again to keep the country whole. He made mistakes and certainly kept slaves but he believed in the U.S. as a nation and when he left office in 1797 he warned America about entangling foreign alliances. He gets my vote.
