I agree, charity begins at home. When your family is eating, then you can worry about other people.

I disagree..people are still people no matter where they live...whats the difference between a starving child in america or africa....alot of people need to step up to the plate but at the same time at least we can find water fountains & left overs here....they dont even have water for miles in some places..angelina has travelled the world & speaking from experience when u travel the world u realize that going to another country is like going to another state, it may look different but people are the same everywhere.....

Yes, that's what has made America the most envied country in the world. We put ourselves first! When is the last time you worked in soup kitchen or a food pantry? What do you mean it's not on the way to the mall? Why are you criticizing anybody for helping out in Africa? Do you even know what's happening there? Yes, you are right, it is selfish and self centered.

Angelina who?
Well, we actually do help "our selfs" first. But there will always be homeless and starving people in this country, just like in all countries. That's just the way it is. I know it's hard to digest, but not all homeless people, for example, are homeless due to circumstances beyond their control.
And as for Africa, wouldn't you agree that we as Americans have an obligation to help where we can?

Even the poorest person here in the USA would be considered almost middle class in some parts of Africa. There are already places here in the US where help is available, though granted they are under attack. There is nothing like the hunger you see in Africa affecting anyone here in the USA.
When the police find a body in the USA, the person was killed by drugs or ciminal activity, not starvation.

I don't know if she's crazy, the homeless in america are mostly just scammers. Think of it, do you ever see any of them starving to death. No joke, I live in Austin TX and we have this "homeless" chick who is almost 300 pounds, has been begging for 6 months and never lost weight.
Nobody starves in America.

I think that with all the money she makes and with all the countries (including USA) that have problems she should focus on more than one country. With the money she makes, she should donate half of it to charities across the world. But at the same time, other celebrities and millionaires should step up to the plate also.

i do think that we do have our own problems here.......BUT she should be able to help whomever she wants at least she is helping what are you doing to help starving kids??
I am sorry for the children that are homeless....but not the adults they are fully capable of getting a job and if they dont make enough money to fund an apartment then they are probably eligible for welfare that's what i pay my tax dollars for!.....
I'm sick of paying for everyone else to have kids and raise them on the streets ..........IF U CANNOT AFFORD A CHILD DONT HAVE ONE!! NO THERE ISNT ACCIDENTS DONT HAVE SEX IF U ARE NOT FINANCIALLY STABLE......K I'M DONE COMPLAINING

i sort of agree -- i mean i personally think she does it for attention and for people to say, aw how nice - angelina is helping... she probably just does it so that people will see her movies and stuff....but yea it is sweet and she could be doing the same thing here. but here we have completely different methods of helping the homeless, there, they probably dont have any methods. poverty is worse there than here, thats probably why she goes there

America does not even compare to Niger.
Besides I don't see any other millionaires dishing out their money to help Americans. Accepting welfare is considered laziness.
