Why do people pull the trigger of a handgun while squeezing a rifle's. I somewhat understand the squeeze of a rifle, but why can't they squeeze a handgun's trigger?
I would appreciate a wide and detailed answer on this.

i am blessed that i have no one in the service to worry about, but i often think i would like military personnel to know how much they are appreciated and how proud we are of them.

Actors such as Sean Pinhead, I'm not Fonda Jane, and Timothy Rawbuns think that America wants to know their ignorant opinion. They use their celeberity to cram their garbage down our throat. Why can't they just act out their pretend life and leave us Americans alone? The recent hoopla that was staged in the media involving these three anti-Americans, proves that hollywood should stick to pretending and let the rest of us alone. Not Fonda Jane shot her big trap off but had no solution. Same with Rawbuns and Pinhead. I don't like the war anymore than the next American, but if we leave Iraq now, how many more thousands will die. To top it off, every soldier there is a volunteer. Those soldiers have given their lives for the freedom of the stupidity of hollywood. So those (hollywood) fools can stage anti-american protests. Us being in Iraq is a fight for our very basic security and freedom here at home. God bless the American soldier and to HELL with the hollywood actor!

I know the marines are a smaller branch (relative speaking), have a reputation for being tougher and part of the navy etc but I gues I am asking is what is the "functional difference" between the army and marines?

i.e. in what situations would the marines be sent in and in which would the army be sent in? Just curious because it "seems" like they're roles from my personal understanding seems to overlap.
From my understanding....
Army = large scale, long term land based operations.
Marines = smaller scale, short term or stabalizing operations.

Although there seems to be many examples in the past century where those roles were reverse.

i will be going TDY instead of using the shuttle from the airport to the base. i would rather get a rental. will the military give me the amount the shuttle would of cost? i know they wont give me the rental car. but they said i am allowed to use a shuttle which cost 150 each way. and for 300 bucks i could get a rental at my own pocket. will i still get the 150 each way?
