right now? with the war going on? there is no such thing as a low ASVAB score. Take it from me, the test measures very basic comprehension and thinking skills. I know I took three times when I was toying with enlisting, actually enlisted then re enlisted again. I scored the max each time but apparently I am stupid enough to not only join once, but go back again. So go figure. And they are so desperate, that no matter what your score, they can obtain a waiver for you.

I can't directly answer your question, but I still think I can help.

Call one of your local recruiters and ask when the ASVAB results will hit his office. I think it's about 2-3 months after the test.

When you think the results are in, call the recruiter and make an appointment to visit with him. He will tell you not only your score but where that places you on a scale. For example, "you tested higher than 77% of the test-takers."

Stay alert because if you tested high, there are many incentive programs available to you. But they may not even be mentioned because they're trying to save money. Contact all the recruiters, get their best deal, and play them off against each other. (The Navy said this, can you do better than that?)

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery scores in four critical areas -- Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge (see below) -- count towards your Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score. The AFQT score determines whether you're qualified to enlist in the U.S. military. The individual Services determine the minimum AFQT score for entry. Scores are divided into categories. Cat 1 through Cat 5 (highest). Service minimums are as follows:
Army 31
Navy 35
Marines 32
Air Force 36
Coast Guard 36

Your scores in the other areas of the ASVAB will determine how qualified you are for certain military occupational specialties and Enlistment Bonuses. A high score will improve your chances of getting the specialty/job and signing bonus you want.

The cutoff points to get into any of the branches vary but they are all in the 30s. Some people in the 10-25th percentiles can get in but there are limited slots. Those in the lowest 10 percentile are not allowed in at all.

I dont remember what was pass/fail, I think failing is 31 and lower. It is graded on a percentile, so the highest you can score is 99. It is a common sense test. I scored 96 and I am semi-retarded.
