i will be going TDY instead of using the shuttle from the airport to the base. i would rather get a rental. will the military give me the amount the shuttle would of cost? i know they wont give me the rental car. but they said i am allowed to use a shuttle which cost 150 each way. and for 300 bucks i could get a rental at my own pocket. will i still get the 150 each way?

nope.. you will be required to submit all receipts when applying for reimbursement, and if a rantal car is not authorized in your orders, you will NOT be reimbursed.. and if you don't use the shuttle.. then you don't get a receipt, and thus.. don't get reimbursed.

so either see about getting them ammended to authorize a car, or eat the cost. Just remember they will only authorize the dinky el cheapo compact price.

No, rental car must be specified on your orders. Also, without a shuttle reciept you will not even get the 150 each way. Anything over $30 needs a reciept.
