I was in DEP for 6 months. No you do not get paid. However, you can use the time to work on promotions. i.e. Passing the APFT so you can get rank, as well as getting your buddies to join. Whoever said there are drill was wrong, there are no drills. And you can apply to be released from your commitment to service, but why would you.

In DEP you do not get paid. You get paid in basic training. From my understanding, you can quit up until you are actually at your basic training location. Also, within the first 6 months you can request to get out. You will probably have to jump through hoops but you can still get out.

When you're in the dep program, as long as you go to drill you will get paid. Don't expect it to be a lot though.
As for quitting, you can quit anytime before graduating from basic.

No pay till you ship to boot camp, technically you can "quit" before you actually ship out, but it will be in your permanent record, and can disqualify you from trying to enlist in the future.

you do not get paid
You passed your physical, you pissed in the cup and you took your oath. You are a GI now and they got you. You can apply to be released. If you are in the reserve,, you must apply with your unit commander. If you are Active, you must go through your recruiter to do so. Good luck
