VOTE, or stop bitching, you no longer have the right. I stood in line behind obvious illegals obtaining their DL, so I could register to vote. They were so obvious that my wife talked me out of making known to the rest of the room. This whole thing is totaly rediculous! The USA could possibly fall to this single issue. The War in Iraq is second to this issue. We are under invasion right here at home. Soldiers over seas thought that they would look foward to comming home so they could fight the war on the border until they found out they could not be armed and that they would take a considerable pay cut!

I always hear people complaining about Mexicans (etc.) coming to the U.S.A. and expecting everyone here to deal with them in Spanish.
I must be a rare anomaly. My experience is that those Spanish-Speakers who live within the borders of the U.S. actually RESENT white people talking to them in Spanish, and barging in on their private language.

I speak fluent Spanish, I'm pasty white and red-bearded, and they absolutely can't STAND it. It makes them SOOO uncomfortable (which actually used to make me feel like there was something wrong with ME, until I figured it out!)

If there's ANY people who is infamously guilty of travelling abroad and insisting on being spoken to in their own native language, it is the people of the United States of America!

(This question is about LANGUAGE. Don't tell me whether you want immigrants in or out. Those questions are all over here, for you to vent your heart out on!)

And then should the mexican give the land back to those who were there before them? Native Americans, to be PC, used the land years before the mexicans came on the scene.
Mexico sold the territories north of the Rio Grande for $15 million.
What is the rational? Should I also give my house back to those who lived there before I BOUGHT it and just want it back? I fart in your general direction. Is that racist?

Why are they the same ol' crap? Worn out , lame excuses that are usually distorted policy that has no relavence to this issue used against us in our own country by third world invaders. I'd say 15 million = invasion. Is this what we get for compasion? If it wasn't for compasion there would be bulldozers exposing of them now. Nice guy finishes last? well not this time .

Wells Fargo will give loans and accounts to illegals. So, in turn, they can purchase homes and automobiles. Since they are illegals, why were they not arrested when they were protesting? They do not have the same constitional rights we do, after all they are not Americans. Why are they always saying that they can vote. Last I knew they couldn't. But, if they can not vote, then why are the ballots in New Mexico printed in English and Spanish?

Mexicans are descendants of Native Americans, and Native Americans inhabited the United States before white people even knew it existed. The brainiacs who "discovered" what they thought to be India raped and murdered our ancestors. So maybe white people should go back to England, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, ect. and leave the true natives here.

Has Mexico no shame or morals ?Mexico's foreign secretary said today the country may take a dispute over U.S. plans to build a fence on the Mexican border to the United Nations.
Luis Ernesto Derbez told reporters in Paris, his first stop on a European tour, that a legal investigation was under way to determine whether Mexico has a case.

The Mexican government last week sent a diplomatic note to Washington criticizing the plan for 700 miles of new fencing along the border. President-elect Felipe Calderon also denounced the plan, but said it was a bilateral issue that should not be put before the international community.

Derbez said today after meeting with French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy that it was a "shame" U.S. immigration policy had been used for what he claimed was a short-term political gain in the lead-up to midterm elections in the U.S. in November.

He said he discussed the issue with Douste-Blazy, and planned to bring it up in meetings with his Spanish and Italian counterparts during visits to Madrid and Rome.
work on the case until the very last day of President Vicente Fox s term, which ends Dec. 1.
The U.S. Senate approved the border fence bill last month and President Bush has said he will sign it into law - despite last-minute pleas from the Mexican government for a veto.

"What should be constructed is a bridge in relations between the two countries," Derbez said.

In the past centuries of U.S. immigration, immigrants have generally arrived and learned a little English, but not become fluent. The second generation has been bilingual, and the third is monolingual English.

The article below has great stats, but points out that among 2nd generation Hispanics, 92% speak English "very well" or "well."

So why all the fuss about English? The language isn't in danger, and Hispanic immigrants are learning it just like Italians and Germans did before. (better than many Germans, in fact). As an English intructor, I'm not worried at all.

Quit being so stupid people, seriously, you know that most countries around the world have people that speak English for American Tourists. I come from Guatemala and this past summer I went there with some American friends of mine. We went to a Sizzler restaurant down there (yes, we have restaurants believe it or not) and the waiter's name was Julio who spoke in English to all of us and we didn't have people outside with signs saying SPEAK SPANISH OR GO HOME!

Also if you look at most Mexican products in the grocery store you will notice that everything is also translated to English. Come on people, quit trying to act like you're the victims, we live in the information age! I agree that if you are to live here you should at least dominate the language to get around, but there should be no one trying to keep us from speaking our Native Language among ourselves or HAVING SIGNS IN STORES THAT ARE NOT IN ENGLISH. That's just my point of view.

MEXICO IS THE 4TH RICHEST OIL NATION IN THE WORLD

SOURCE:
CNN

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/02/18/obit.lopez.ap/

The state petroleum monopoly Pemex had discovered big oil deposits offshore in the Gulf of Mexico that were twice Alaska's North Slope -- doubling the nation's reserves -- just before Lopez Portillo was elected.

He concentrated on developing petroleum production, quickly turning Mexico into the world's fourth-richest oil nation at a time when the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries cartel was squeezing top dollar out of the United States and other big industrialized countries
