Would I like it?? Hell no! Would I do it to feed my kids? Hell yes!!
Btw, before he became one of the most prolific CEO's in the country, my stepfather swept sawdust in warehouses with no a/c, no ventilation and no fans for 12 hours a day at $2.25/hr.!! He would have taken a cotton field any day! At least there would have been a breeze! Oh yeah, my stepfather was born and raised in NYC.

Most illegals don't either. Ask agriculture. That is why they are in such a bind. Seasonal jobs just aren't steady. And it isn't $17 a day it is about $14 an hour, if they know what they are doing. It is by the basket with a base of the minimum wage. Ask anyone who knows.
And my Mom did it, when she was young. Whites do this work. No one wants seasonal work as their full time job as an adult, however. I'm ok with bringing in seasonal workers (since the illegals here don't want to do that work) but no families, and they need to be given housing by employers so they actually go home at the end of the season.

Evidently you did not see the national news the other night, in California they get $13 and hour to pick in the hot sun bending over and I do think that some legal citizen would work for that.

So you think all 20 million illegals are out picking tomatoes? Isn't that kind of racist? Are you saying they only know how to pick fruit and vegetables?
They're getting ALL KINDS of jobs including ones that Americans WILL do.
Jeez, I'm so tired of that question. They're taking jobs from Americans because stupid greedy American employers want to MAKE A PROFIT OUT OF CHEAP LABOR. They hire illegals because illegals can't ask for minimum wage.

BIG QUESTION: why is it even permissable for a business to exploit them and pay them so little?
Our government has been LETTING our jobs go overseas, and so you want to take your frustrations out on poor Mexicans just trying to feed their families?
Our OWN salaries, labor laws, benefits, and insurance have turned to crap, thanks to lobbyists buying out our politicians, and the IGNORANT assuption that capitalism is good for the working man, when it OBVIOUSLY benefits only the guys holding the bankrolls.
We have more in common with the Mexicans than not: we both are just trying to survive under corrupt governments.
Stop being duped with these neo-con political deflections, you puppets. PAY ATTENTION to what's REALLY going on here. With the Patriot Acts, and last week's "torture" bill, you have ALREADY lost your country; America has been redefined, our government has empowered itself AGAINST it's citizens, and our rights as well as protections from unfair treatment by our own government have been all but totally eliminated.

Yes, I might not like it, but I would do it if I couldn't find other
work and I had a family I didn't want to starve and I didn't want
to steal food to feed them. $17 a day goes a very long way in
Mexico.

They steal one every time they come here to work. Of course we would work those jobs for better pay. Why cant they grow tomatoes in Mexico to support their family's

Yeah, the real people taking our good jobs are coming here because we don't have enough qualified workers for those jobs. And which would those be?
Telecommunications, IT, Finance, and Research Scientists. Those are the ones I see.
Not to mention my doctor!
(He's not Mexican either)
