I think it's clear that there are still some racist assholes out there. But the word does get thrown around a bit loosely. Whenever someone has some kind of point or view on something controversial, like immigration, some on the opposing side like to use the word "racist" instead of actually debating. Because if they can make the "racist" statement stick, then suddenly, they don't have to debate because "everyone knows you can't listen to a racist." It's easier than debating and unfortuantely, it happens to work very well.

The problem is when you have a rebel flag in the background you are automatically labeled a racists. Therefore you scare away people willing to stand up for a just cause because they don't want to be associated with you. If all these racists who are against illegal immigration would stop making it about race then the fight would be much easier, but because of ignorant people the other side has ammo.

If I get called a racist, I usually just laugh and say "So what is your point?" Even though I would not consider myself a racist, this has tremendous shock value. ;)
People call others "racist" if they can't defend their point. Being accused of being a racist today is like being accused of being a Witch was during the Salem Witch Trials. So: Fight shock value with shock value and go back to whatever you were doing before the person cries racism. ;) In court, things are slightly different only because they are so politically correct, but usually this system works.

Some cases people are racist. In the argument against illegals... it does NOT apply. I am not racist. I am against lazy people trying to do things the easy way instead of the legal way. Would a police officer be considered racist for arresting me if I stole a shirt because I didn't feel like paying for it? No!
We are taught by our parents to do things LEGALLY!! I think that the downfall of our country will come when we award people for being criminals in our own country. Why not just starting teaching our youth if they want something just steal it?
Amnesty will NOT work!! Read your history books!!

LOL, I'll be sure to call you first when we are invaded. No I am not a racist. Actually that was the biggest surprise I discovered about myself when I joined the service. People are people. We were from all social, economic, and racial backgrounds but we had one thing in Common. Our commitment to the United States of America.

Calling someone racist is usually done as a last resort, and it's usually done by those who just cannot believe you don't agree with them. They run out of ways to explain their point of view, and the only thing left for them to do is scream "racist".

No, not here. The morons on this forum who call me racist, (Nancy, Panocha, Itioto) they don't know the real meaning of the word and so it has no merit.
