I've seen many posts about how immigrants should assimilate into being Americans. What does that mean? What defines the American culture? Is it just speaking English and only eating hot dogs and burgers? And if so would that also mean that the Native Americans should assimilate and become more American?Just wondered.

katsuplover,

I swear to God, that I have never even looked into information on La Reconquista, I have witnessed my city and surruounding cities turn Mexican, all the white folks leaving, thats all.

Its not about La Reconquista, its about truth, since the U.S Government needs these people to survive and thrive, they are doing nothing about the problem, so in turn they need a place to live and towns become Mexican, plain and simple.

I say its a matter of time before they are the majority, and the article you show makes sense. They how ever cant, and are not trying to take over.

Just because the Governor will soon be of Mexican ancestry, the mayors and most politicians, some day the President of the U.S, doesnt mean they dont hold an allegiance to the United States

Most Americans do thier own chores. Some people even hire illegals out of pity. I used to hire kids to keep them off the street. With the mentality of pro-amnesty(anti-american)illegals this is really a case of exuberent pride and slapping the hand that feeds them. They come here "expecting" work and then they have the nerve to call Americans lazy and incompetent..the people that went out of thier way(illegaly) to help a human being out and give them a job. Most of the illegals in my town are lazy and heavy drinkers. I usually have to go through 8 to 10 of them before I find a good one to work. Most Americans aren't racist or inhumane. Please don't use that as a political platform

The only Invaders were the English and Spanish Conquistadores hundreds of years ago.

Heres the definition of "Invader";
Noun: invader; Someone who enters by force in order to conquer

And what is a Conquistador, very simple a conqueror.

The immigrants are not trying to conquer anything, it would be impossible to conquer the might of the U.S military, they just want to work and feed some of their poor back in their country.

Fat Boy Glenn has it all wrong, he better get it right and stop calling them "Invaders" or I'm gonna invade his assz with my foot way up there.

If your so fed up why dont you pack your bags and Hit The Road Jack, and dont you come back no more. Most neighboorhoods are turning Mexican anyways, so go follow your pack out of state.

It's no different than the Swedish flying their flags to remember their heritage, or the Norwegians, or the Germans, or any other ethnic group. I am from the south and the flag simply means that I am of southern heritage....

The Minutemen are enforcing laws that our government will not enforce. Also, do you know how many Mexican lives have been saved by the Minutemen? They saved hundreds from death in the desert. Would you prefer that the Minutemen passed them buy and let those Mexicans die? They could have turned a blind eye but didn't do that.

>We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context
>his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an
>immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to

>college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his
>latest book, Mexifornia," explaining how immigratio both legal and
>illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would
>march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American
>Dream.
>
>Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and
>gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience sat
>spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the
>United States. He said, "If you believe that America is too smug, too
>self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that
>hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time.
>Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and

>
>Here is how they do it, " Lamm said:
>
>"First, to destroy America, turn America into a bilingual or

>Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press
>for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided.

I recieved this e-mail a few days ago from someone who is legal here and who appreciates America and what America has to offer. She has stated that she is willing to assimilate into the American culture. She has respect for Americans and America and our flag. These are the kind of immigrants I welcome, instead of the criminals who have no respect at all for us as a nation or a people and are just trying to change our country into theirs. (below)

During the Arpartied era in South Africa passbooks were used to restrict the movement and domocile of people. This benefited the privialiged few at the expense of the majority. Is this not what is happening on a Global scale? Migration historically is a very effecient way of transfering ideas and knowledge. Are we holding back human development because we currently are only focusing on allowing capital to move freely and not humans. Also could it not help reduce ignorance and fear of others, as this seems to me to be the route cause (or at least the catalyst) of so much conflict in the world.

Everyday...everywhere I go, I am surrounded by immigrants, that are not US citizens...mostly Somalians. I am not racist in any way, shape, or form, but I am extremely aggravated. How can these people be here living legally in the US, receiving public assistance, and free medical care while we teach them English?
I really NEED to know, and every letter I write to our Senators, and Congress men go unanswered.
I am so deeply troubled in this realization, because I am married to a Canadian citizen. He does not really want to live here but he wants to support my girls and me, until we can legally go to Canada. He is banned from US soil. Immigration legalities have us separated. He has a clean background and no medical problems. He would not be a burden on our society, unlike the immigrants I see crowding the welfare offices.
I don't understand these laws...and even the lawyers are clueless. I miss my husband. This is so extremely painful. I just want to understand. It makes no sense.
On another note...at this time, I cannot immigrate to Canada either. It's a spendy process which literally takes years.
