This is a response to a responder - 1 million illegals expected this calendar year - not one is getting in line - even my Brit friend must wait in line - but others just circumvent the law - that's the freaking difference.

I think Mexico in particular has worn out their welcome, and yes, if one or the other parties took a good stance against illegal immigration, I would be more inclined to support them AS LONG AS it was genuine, not tongue-in-cheek / get-us-through the-election posturing. Mexico and other countries have Big Problems, it stands to reason that the more of their people jump our borders, the more likely their problems are to become OUR problems, at which point in time we as americans then have to solve their problems FOR them, such as providing jobs, social services, medical care, the whole show. It's not our fault their countries are dysfunctional, but their dysfunction will bleed over into our country until and unless our citizens that vote for the politicians who ultimately end up writing all this policy on immigration etc stand up in unison and say 'no more'. I don't support letting Mexico do as they please in our country under any circumstances. Yes, Mexico, because they're by far the worst offenders of our immigration laws.
We either have borders, or we don't, and despite the globalists' shiny-eyed visions, frankly there's a lot of really screwed-up countries around the world that don't even pretend to have their **** together. I'm against letting them bring their problems to our country anymore. Good fences make good neighbors, time we built ours.

Well I know the question is loaded "if one party took charge of the issue" so I uspect my answer won't be popular but absolutely not it would be the one thing to sway me not to vote for them as I would understand that they were appealing to a herd mentality of issues presented by a media that sought only to develop and exploit fear and hatred.
A question for all those who are concerned about immigration is to say why do you believe the word illegal is always placed in front of the immigrant word by the media? Emmigration by Brits to other countires outstripped immigration last year - I wonder how those countires feel about the Brits "invading" ior "taking over". Now also ask yourself if you had been persecuted and tortured and had to seek refuge away from your home country would you not hope or pray that someone some country would offer you shelter and respite as a refugee? And what exactly are the problems people think are happening in the UK as a result of people coming here - look at history and the reason we have a thankfully generous(ish) approach to immigration - because simply put we need the differing skills base....

Absolutely YES!!! I would vote for anyone in any party that supports upholding the laws of the land. Likewise, I will vote against anyone that supports amnesty or "programs" to allow the lawbreakers to stay in the USA.
We need a single law to fix the entire situation. Make it a felony for any employer to hire an illegal alien. That would cut off the reason they come here in the first place!
But we are loaded with a bunch of professional politicians that try to be all things to all people, versus providing much needed leadership and doing what is best for our country. Therefore, nothing will be changing....
