I recieved this e-mail a few days ago from someone who is legal here and who appreciates America and what America has to offer. She has stated that she is willing to assimilate into the American culture. She has respect for Americans and America and our flag. These are the kind of immigrants I welcome, instead of the criminals who have no respect at all for us as a nation or a people and are just trying to change our country into theirs. (below)

Megan P, that's exactly the way that I feel and I believe that many of us feel. What American in their right mind would welcome someone who burns our flag, flips America off on camera, demands rights they don't have, and marches in our streets with their country's flag?!!! Not this one, ever.

Archangel, Im here because I'm American, not that it's any of your business. I mispelled a word, so shoot me. To be "Christian" you are very judgemental. How is asking ONE question wanting attention? FU CK YOU.

Amen sister, I agree with you, I have no problem with immigrants as long as the buy into the melting pot of our society, not the current salad bowl mentality that is out there. This garbage that our economy will crash if we kick out the illegals is so bogus.
Proud to be American and God Bless America

If someone doesn't like America then why would they even want to live here? They should stay where they came from and not even worry about stepping a toe on our soil. If they hate us so much, then why torture themselves by coming in here illegally? I wouldn't want to be around people I hate.
If people want to live in America, respect our country, then they should become LEGAL. My husband and I have talked about this before: Why would we support illegal immigrants who come into this country and work UNDER THE TABLE? My husband and I are trying to support our family, trying to make it, we pay taxes, we pay everything we need to pay because we are legal. Then they come along and they DON'T HAVE TO? They can live better than us, make more money, and they are not even American's?

I think that’s great……that she loves our country and wants to be an American….she is a good example to those individuals who take our country for granted …….. now if we can only get some of our own fellow American to have that kind of adulation for our country....that would be even better

Don't mind that kind one bit. It's the people who want to act like they still live in a different country after they come here that annoy me. You are in America, embrace it and live it. Nice question to get people to think!

Princess, careful the hype...'wrap myself in this new flag of mine'...the phrase 'wrapping oneself in the flag' has darker implications, see the reference below.
One way or another, people are playing their way into the United States, and our representation is either a) actively helping them, or b) too stupid to catch on, either way it's kind of questionable,
ultimately the reason for doing it is the usual, 'money'. THINK of how much tax money you could get from ALL of north america! woohoo! LOL Except, they're idiots, and the truth is, it'll end up costing most US residents their livelihood or a significant chunk of it, and it'll bring people in that may say they want to be americans, but they're just out to play us all for chumps.

Anyone who is sincere in wanting to become a legal American without wanting to force their previous country's attitudes on the American Freedom system is always welcome.
