Tell me what you think!

With the avent of superhighways, television, radio and the internet our country, the USA has become for all real practical purposes one country with no real state borders that no one can honestly honor.

Our Federal Government, for all practical purposes has Federal Laws that supersede all state laws except for local conditions.

If these two comments are in fact factual, why have state borders, state governments. It seems to me each state is more or less its own kingdom within the greater kingdom of America.

It seems to me also that if we could abolish all states borders and governments our Supreme Court would not have any state rights issues to rule on. There would be no state fighting about individual state laws and state rights. That would also decrease our prison population due to violations of state rights.

There is really no cultural differences since you can go anywhere and find a McDs, Burger King on any exit ramp.

I think it would be a lot better for everyon

What are your views on America today? Do you think that the Founding Fathers who wrote the Bill of Rights and the Constitution would approve of America today? Do you think that they would be shocked and amazed at what has happened? If George Washington were to come to America for one day and spend the entire day in Washington DC what do you think he would say? Do you think this is what the Founding Fathers invisioned? Most important do you think that the people still hold the power, or do you think its all been corrupted, and we should just function as human beings and live with the decisions made for us?

Millions of American families need help, yet our government spend billions on overseas aid. Our people can't afford health insurance...I fear we're going to have third world problems in the near future .

...from the government, from charity, etc? This is not a hateful question. I am just wondering why there is SO MUCH help (free stuff, giveaways, handouts) for the poor but it is extremely difficult for those who are 'barely making it' to get the help that they need. There are a group of people who work everyday, pay bills and are just stuck- yet they don't quite qualify for handouts and things like that.

But then you have some poor people who are very picky about the jobs that they will work, they refuse to be proactive in their situation (knowing that by doing nothing, they will have anything handed to them).

Why does the general public continue to support programs that are so counterproductive? Rewarding laziness will get us nowhere.

liberals/progressives would like to impose a carbon tax which will oppress poor people...poor can't affored "green" technologies so their taxes will always be high, but the rich can buy "green" technologies decreasing their taxes...just like the many loop holes the rich people get now...poor countires in africa who have coal and oil to produce cheap electricity for their people are meeting opposition from "green" groups in the west who want poor nation in africa to buy green technologies from them instead of letting africa develop on their own...they want africa to be dependent on western nation...

I have some old stamps and I do not know their worth (somewhere between 34 and 39 cents).
I understand that with forever stamps, they are always good even when the prices change. Are these forever stamps? Can I still use them since there is no set value associated with the stamp?
